Yellow looks right but would you get sick of it? Does it shout "Look at me!" too much?

What about the interior? Body coloured transmission console and seat belts, or too tacky?

yellow might look ok upon first investigation- when i was considering an earlier car the yellow never seemed to sell very well itwas to ott!

Body coloured interior parts- not my preference. Cant you buy a silver one!!

Yellow is great but don't go mad on colour coding the interior or it looks tacky. Yellow exterior/black interior is a no-brainer.

IMO, silver GT3s will be worth less than yellow ones in years to come; it is the Maritime Blue 964RS equivalent colour.

Go understated for the standard cars, lairier for the RSs/GT3/2s etc.

Let's see what yer resale is like compared to the yellow ones in ten years' time

The solution: never sell it! (And why would you want to?)

Concur with Dom here ,mines red with black interior with the alloy half roll cage and matching silver effect console ( is it alloy or just painted ?) ,............ cool!
When I see the speed yellow one I stop and stare thinking "Should have got the yellow" ....but could I live with it full time, you know the feeling.
Would you marry the ( peroxide) blonde ( Marylin Monroe, Jayne Mansfield) in the leopard skin print, and worry what the guys are thinking, or the natural auburn in the Coco Chanel( Audrey Hepburn)and live happily ever after.??

I am biased but go for Speed Yellow and black interior!

Speed Yellow emphisises the curves, body kit and extreme nature of the model.

From experience the yellow is easier to keep clean, chips dont look too obvious and if you ding it, it is much easier to match being non-metallic.

Personally, I like subtle use of colour coding inside, but once again from experience you have to be very careful with yellow belts. I saw a nice 996 with a yellow colour coded centre console, but knowing how easy the water based paints chip and scratch, I dont know how practical this would be.

If you dont want anyone to look at you dont buy a Porsche!

Aah now these are very helpful suggestions. Only problem is you've now got me hugely confused.

I'm definitely an Audrey Hepburn kind of guy. However, I've had two silver 911s, so I'm keen to break my hatrick.

The silver interior is also a good observation - possibly silver transmission console with alloy half roll cage as suggested, although carbon fibre appeals too - hadn't thought of either of those. If it's yellow on the outside, chances are my retina couldn't stand being burned by a yellow interior as well.

As for red versus yellow - well, I still can't make my mind up. Dammit.

The problem with arctic silver is that:

1) its a great colour and as such most of the porsche community have chosen it

2) On a sunny day it is actually quite hard to see, as it melds into the road imho, not something you want when you are hammering down your favourite A or B road and some daft old granny pulls out in front of you.

3) I think Guards Red is better, but to be honest SY is astonishingly good looking in the flesh.. very tough decision

all the best

I like Zanzibar red on GT3s. Has a bit of orange to it.

I recently bought a speed yellow clubsport with a black interior andI think it's just the best combination.

I think Zanibar suits the GT3 as well and they look great in black IMO.

I agree with others comments here about colour coded interior bits. Yuk!
