Black or Guards Red.

Yellow is worth less for resale.

Silver is a bit boring for a GT3.

AFN had one in the dk green metallic which was unusual but looked stunning.

I just ordered my new C2 in Black....

Sorry Benno, but I disagree with that!

Porsches in Speed Yellow are ordered in far fewer numbers that most of the other colours. The colour is usually specified on the more extreme models. Many of the official press shots are done using Speed Yellow cars as they photograph well and show the cars lines better.

Try and find a used Speed Yellow car when you want one!

If you are looking for blues, silvers or greys there is loads of choice. If you want Speed Yellow and a specific spec. its often quite difficult to get exactly what you want!

I should imagine if you asked Joel or Henry if Speed Yellow is difficult to sell, they would probably elect not to have their showrooms full of Speed Yellow stock. But I would imagine that the odd one or two that come through every now and then, don`t hang around for too long!

Disagree ... I think it shows the curves and the line of the car off really well. But I'm the shrinking violet type in any case

Now as I was driving along today, cursing my local OPC's reluctance to honour a warranty claim that was 3 days out of warranty period despite being booked in before the expiry date (long story, some other time maybe), I chanced across a speed yellow mk1 GT3.

And I tell you what, it really made my day.

If the OPC don't come through on the warranty claim, then I shan't be speccing a new model (yar boo sucks), but I'll be perfectly happy with a used Mk1... in yellow.

Nah, a decent red or black one will have a wider market and will be worth 2-3k more.

There was a yellow 3.4 996 C2 sold by AFN recently that was the only one i have ever seen at sub 50k at a OPC. Ditto a mate trying to sell his SY Boxster S who is being offered rubbish money.

For sure the GT3 works well in lairy colouts but Silver, Black, Blue metallics are always going to do best for resale with red a reasonable solid colour.

Normal 993/996 C2/4's etc Yellow a 'no no' in terms of resale and price lower 2nd hand. But RS/GT3 etc. it makes not a jot of difference.

eg www.Gmundcars.com have 3 X 993RS for sale:

Black 28K Miles £63K
Yellow 26K miles £63K
Blue 35K miles £63K

Piers
993RS....Speed Yellow!

Dom hit it on the head earlier, Yellow is with black interior is IMHO 'THE' colour for GT3's (not for regular 996s, 993s or even 993T'S's tho where it looks kind of cack) like Maritime is the colour for 964's- worth a good few £k over other RS colours.

On both red is an acceptable alternative, but on 964RS's its far less desireable by the vast majority of punters.

993RS's tho, hmmm I'll start a thread on that

With all due respect bollocks.
I started my porker experience with Guards Red 964 C4 Cab, got banned for speeding, and then had car nicked from my garage. Since had 968CS (Speed Yellow), 993RS (Speed Yellow), now on 996C4S (Speed Yellow). Absolutely love the C4S, car & colour. Guards is so 80's red braces city wideboy.:-)

Thats all fine each to their own, you clearly have no taste & ya mama dresses you funny- all with due respect of course.

(although I must admit both the 968Cs & 996C4S do look good in SY, well only as long as you don't have yellow wheels too......)

Be a dull old world if we all agreed anyway.....

Well maybe it was a bit stark & my smiley was very old tech!
My 968CS DID have yellow wheels and very smart they were too. Haven't yet managed to colour code the C4S wheels. Still dress funny and think its a great car and a great colour.

I agree with Steve, speed yellow wheels on a 968CS look superb.

Not sure if they'd work so well on a 911 for some reason tho'
