Gonna buy me a 944S2 I think...

The S2 Vs turbo Q is an interesting one.
I bought a turbo just over two years ago. There are amazingly quick with only light tuning. On the track I did find it a bit of a handful in anything than than perfect conditions, the turbo coming in making things a bit leery, to the extent I found myself making pedestrian exits from slow corners, with a stack of stuff ready to overtake me. Fast corners and straights were an all together different matter with me finding myself all over the back of the less powerful 911s etc
So early this year I decided to swap it for a 968 might be just the ideal compromise. Great weight distribution and less of it coupes with a bit less power but appalled in a much more controllable way. Less of a boooost into the distance on the straight, but more confidence coming out of the slow stuff.
So now I have both have been comparing them head to head for 6 weeks…….
The 968 is good – everything I expected it to be, though you do miss the boost it is fairly addictive. It doesn’t feel that light and I wonder if there really is much in it compared to the 944.
But what it has shown me is suite what an amazing car the 944 turbo is. In the right hands it is genuinely very fast car in a way the968 or even my 964 could ever be.
The 944 is up for sale (LHD so only £4.5K!) but the result of my trial is that the 968 is joining it. I am simply going to keep the one that fails to sell, as I can’t make up my mind.

A relative lightweight then! Good cos I'm hopefully getting one tomorrow... Having to go to Yorkshire to get it and my Pa wants to leave at 6am (didn't know there was a 6am but hey)
Am anticipating a lack of sleep tonight! What is it with petrolheads, am I sad or what?!
Now where's the red wine, start early, finish early and don'thave too much of a hangover that a fry up on the way won't cure

I have an S2 and it is difficult to keep speed legal. Every day city and motorway the car has polish and action. At over 4000rmp it flies. Not a track car but a fast well balanced everyday coupe. at pace light and responsive, needs to be worked a bit in traffic being more stag than gazelle.
Sensitive tyre, wheel alignment, steering set up. Worth paying cash attention to.
