Hello welcome.
How many posts ! You must have too much free time

I've just joined PCGB. The forum is a bit quiet compared to PH and it sounds like it's one less now. What's the problem or can't you say ?

well to keep it simple and not point the finger at anyone, i'll keep it brief.
I was a regional organisor for the east midlands, but got fed up with wading through all the red tape and having to fight the old boy net work so i quit.

Hi Helen,

Sorry to hear probs with PCGB, must admit it all ways seems very quiet over there.

If I remember correctly didn't you have a GT3 on order ? Change of heart ?

Cheers

Michael

Helen is/was a club official isn't she? I've noticed her provocative posts on the PCGB forum and also believe that she and her husband have refused to sport cravats at club events. For these 2 reasons she was never destined to survive for long in the rarified (and lonely) atmosphere of the PCGB fora and should therefore be welcomed into this forum provided she does not mention the "C" word again.

Of course she also joins Melv and Clubsport as a club officials posting on PH (and isn't Lightweight something to do with the club too?)

think the PCGB forum has a terminal illness.

yes had a GT3 on order but i got fed up with waiting for it and watching the track season for 2004 come and go. so we got a (dare i say it again)Cayenne S and are very very pleased with it.

Hi Helen, welcome to PH (this is jeddob from the PCGB forum). I use PCGB less now due to the amount of politics and the amount off-topic posts that you have to wade through to get to the subject. Its much more friendly and relaxed and to the point here. Having said that, I really enjoyed your "spoken like a true director" post!

I can assure you if PCGB is as officious as people say, with clubsport's ability to argue and be blunter than a errrrr kick in the bollox, there is no way he's a club official.

Just to say I've met Melv(964RS), John McGirl(996) and Steve Kevlin(Motorsport and trackdays) a few times and they seem decent porschaholics like the rest of us. Shame the members/officials some of you have problems with aren't of a similar ilk.

Tee hee...just saw that very amusing.

No connection with porker club other than being a member for many years.
To be honest I have found all of the register secretaries extremely enthusiastic and incredibly helpful.

Never found any problem on the forums, but then it's difficult to take it all too seriously isn't it?

You can tell PCGB forums are getting desperate for members. Old Henry Firman cropped up on there a few days ago

I go on the 964RS forum to annoy Melvin, and Desmundo, his siamese twin.

I've used the Boxster forum a few times to see if other owners have a particular problem/fix. Frankly there are as many knowledgeable bods on here....not knocking the PCGB forum for that...just that there are a good few porschephiles on here too.

I do a lot of the club trackdays...very good, competently organised and an excellent club feel with drivers chatting away between track sessions and having a great time.

Dom - I saw your posting ref Henry and chuckled. I can also confirm that that avatar of Des' on PCGB forum bears no physical relation to him in person either as you'll see if you end up at Brands on one of those expensive track days...

Clubsport, sorry always muddle you, Burzel and Lightweight up.

Fulham 911- I was waiting for you to post...on Oldtimer's GJOBer Ferrari thread....but yes, I daresay I'll be in a Cayenne S in 7 years' time once you and your ilk have run it in for me

well the cayenne is an impressive beast to drive and sales are going very well so you would have a growing audience on here and no competition.

i'd be willing to moderate the section for you
