Hi - after a year and a half of umming and aahing I finally got my new toy today. Midnight blue 993TT - she is awesome. It feels like driving a fighter jet without wings.

Very difficult to keep under a ton on the Mway - I fear already for my licence but for the moment I'm just damned happy .

For pics will have to organise web hosting and can't do it 'til back at home with a "real" computer/connection - unless the advert is still there - hold on...no dammit!

Of course the day I do this the news is full of record petrol prices and all that depressing shite but I can't think of a better way to waste money anyway...

Yep - I live in Val de Bievres, which in literal translation IS "Beaver Valley" . Unfortunately life there, while great, does not resemble a Californian porn film in any way (i.e. we're not HIV positive FLAMEPROOF UNDERWEAR..).

Can't wait 'til tomorrow when I'll be sober and can go out gently exploring my beast's envelope, if you see what I mean..

If everything falls into place and I don't have any sudden career plans that urge me to emigrate very quickly, I'm test driving a 993 twin Turbo this coming week with a view to buying, I can't stop thinking about it!

My god what a car - in second and third when those turbos light up the sensation of being thrown at the horizon is simply amazing. Clearly addictive and very, very naughty! As my uncle said, photocopy your driving licence so you have something to look at once they've taken it away...

Had another look - she was taken off Stirlings' site, but is still on Fuchs site - click on the ref no. of the 98 993tt for the pics. Didn't buy through them - private sale - they were just one of 2 web sites advertising her.

www.fuchs.co.uk

The previous owner has lavished money on her and everything is perfect. Quality of the paintwork compared to a doggy one I saw at Northways a few months ago is a revelation. Makes me glad they took for me for a test pilot and wouldn't let me try the one they were selling, because I suspect that once you've driven one, you'd forgive all sorts of minor failings just to take it home with you...

Would love to be there for the rolling road session, particularly as the previous owner paid Porsche £10k for the factory upgrade to 450bhp (hehe!) so I'd be curious to see what the dyno said.

Unfortunately I'll be driving home to Paris in her Frday night so it will not be possible .

Know what you mean Marquis Rex - I did not sleep very well for 2 weeks thinking about this purchase - should I shouldn't I, am I going to get ripped off, am I wasting my money....It was bloody torture. Feels better once it's done and you load up the suspension leaving the roundabout with your boot in and go howling off down the road....

I have to pay attention to the Porsche owners forum as when I grow up I want to be one!

(no harm was intended by this post. I just live in the hope that I one day will be able to afford that Porsche of my dreams )

LA, rather than hijack this thread further I'll talk to you elsewhere about France.

Supeb, Nel. Enjoy the car. I have a wee place middle France - left of Toulouse, in Cordes. Sorry, my geography is as bad as my geometry - where are you geographically from that?

Hi LA - I live just outside "the Big Lily Pad", in a little green valley 10 minutes from Versailles, so bleeding miles away from you. If you're coming up to Paris some time come and have coffee/beer .
