Some sort of link error.
Seems to be pointing to pics of some sort of Beetle

I have to say i was struck with the Beetle connection,
it looks like the pics are from porsche AG, yet when you get to air brush semi photos like this it should look great.Something is just not right with the design balance.
Really looking forward to seeing one in the flesh, sadly I cannot get excited enough to leave a deposit at my local OPC.

Bit disappointed as I was hoping that it would plunge the 996 Turbo prices into freefall just ready for when we come to sell the Tuscan later this year...

But I don't see the prices dropping so much now

Apparently the OPCs are being inundated with the fickle deposits of ridiculously tanned pentagunarians.

Like Clubster, initial pictures render the new vehicle only slightly less attractive than Blundle-Fly but it will no doubt possess a certain je ne sais quoi i'th'metal.

And i thought the interior was supposed to be BETTER?!

what the hell is that thing poking up in the middle of the dashboard? some sort of cuckoo clock?

like the front lights, and er thats about it really.

sincerely hope the changes under the skin more than make up for what at the moment looks like a pretty poor revamp (may look better in the flesh - I hope so)

had ordered one a while ago - now contemplating whether I want it..

Well my 996 should hold its value a bit longer. I think the red Carrera S looks good. The new lights and wheels are nice but not a lot of changes externally.

The interior however looks like Japan/American Lexus/lux boudoirish

I think I'll wait for the 998 (will give me time to save ).

Checked some threads on a few American based Porsche boards and they seem more excited than we are about both interior & exterior of the 997...Job done for Porsche then

My comments are:

1. Side and rear - only minor changes.
2. Front - OMG Beetle! Still an imporvement over the pre-facelift 996, but not sure its an improvement over the post-face lift one
3. Interior - What have they done? This looks like an interior from a premium compact executive car (i.e. bland). That thing in the middle looks like it belongs on a Mini (or Beetle!)

To conclude, it looks better, but its a marginal change. Looks like 996 prices will remain relatively strong.

I like it.

Looks less flabby than a 996.

Am I blind or are the two bodystyles the same? - difference is not too apparent in these pics, although I suppose the 'S' might be slightly wider - doesn't look it though.

Shame they've lost the full width red strip across the back of the 'S' as well.

Perfected! I love it.

All apart from the silver rings around the head lamps.
Colour code those and I'll have one please. (If would like to give me one!).

Which is IMO a nice reminder to the origins of this rear engined car.
Well done, Porsche.

spot on. the interior is a major let down. the gear stick is very 993 which i never liked. it's all too angular and sanitised. there doens't seem to be any deisgn flair at all in there. a bit of an faceless exec-o-matic.

exterior seems pretty much the same other than the front lights. pretty poor all in all.

Every new 911 release lets the older 911s look better!

Did I say perfect?
Well it was almost there. But then I always prefered the older round lights.
