Dream on.... I don't want a 996 that bad!
I did have it up for £28,500 but the dealer I'm buying from told me it was too cheap and would out people off...... but then in the same breath offered me... 21,000... cheeky bugger.
thanks
Arran
you were offered £21,000 on a car that the dealer said was too cheap at £28,000. That's a profit margin of 25%, not too bad at all. That doesn't include the fact that he'll sell it on for maybe £32,000. That's near on 35% profit.....go figure

Arran, that sounds like a nice colour combination. I got a 996 back in January but started looking in November.
What became clear to me was that many cars being sold by dealers, although on the market price, seemed to take a few months to sell. They may have offered discounts but the sticker prices remained the same.
I guess what I am trying to say is don't lose hope and be patient... they even take a few months to shift at the dealers.
Good luck to you.
azura is dead right !
I chopped in a 993 (93L) for a slightly used 996 in 9.99 ( too many 9's here) at a main dealer for a trade-in of 27.5 k .....
it didn't sell for 4 months, they shifted it to another branch of the dealership, eventually went some 6 months after my original deal. I was thinking someone would have bought it rapido...but as Henry says thats all part of the owners emotional attachment.
BTW if I had kept it I would have avoided losing a shed load of money on the 996 over the last 5 years but no worries its all part of the fun.

Each to their own aceparts,,but I am prepared to put up with a fair ammount of hassle for a £5k differential to sell a car.
Good to see that your business is going well that £5k here or there is not an issue.
Unfortunately many of us are not in that position when it comes to running our cars.
If you're not in that position (ie to get out of it by whatever means as and when needed) then you can't afford it. If you can't afford it, why have you got it?

Affording it isn't so much the problem...it's just the game...losing money on cars?....buy carefully and it can be avoided...No dis-respect meant,,,but not all car dealers are the smartest guys you will come across, only the ones who post on here
The reason i have it is because I quite like driving it to be honest.
