Matt - well said! - couldn't agree more!

If you want something fast and reliable buy a Nissan or a Porker. TVR is one of the few remaing cottage industries in this country - and they are proud to be making British Sportscars (I'm not doing Noble, Caterham et al down here)... but TVR are doing a very good job given their development budget and limited resources - witness AC which are apparently going bankrupt...

Everyone knows their reputation, so surely anyone who buys one believing that theirs will be 100% reliable is more than a bit nieve.

I agree with matt here. OK so there has been problems with a lot of early Tuscans, but (and I know some of you will get upset with this) you should have realised that this would happen... The same happened when the Cerbera first hit the road, but very rarely do you get problems now after 5 years of development. If you wanted a reliable Tuscan you should have waited....

The main reason the Tamora's aren't having any trouble with mechanics is the development of the S6 engine and Tuscan chassis etc. has been done. The finger followers stuff has now been sorted too... that's why I took a chance and bought one. and that's also why after 7,000 miles I have only had 1 glitch and that was with the dash read-out. I know people who have had no end of trouble with Porsches and Ferrari's and Lotus' but they don't seem to be whinging on here every 5 minutes.

As for TVR being in financial trouble, that is complete bollocks.... I visited the factory two weeks ago and they were as busy as ever....

Flashes - just because they are busy does not mean that they don't have financial problems.

They may be producing cars - but they COULD be making a loss.

I sincerely hope that all is well at Blackpool.

Mine has been superb - only 'down time' due to an 'off'. I would hapilly sell my wife and children (if I had any) in order to buy another TVR next time. 19000 miles and I still have not received notification from the Grin Removal Clinic about my operation date. I have a standing order with the local PIE company, a helmet bag and a bobble hat - what more has life to offer? - the Pork drivers dont understand.must go - someone is too close to MY radiator, and Nurse doesnt like me to get upset.

read your messages with interest- page 1 messages- far too fed up to care about TVR I'm afraid- certainly was aware these cars can be unreliable, hand built- all the rest of the "jargon"- but that's a very differnet thing from almost causing a very serious accident on a motorway- not really funny anymore, I'm afraid. You both must have been luckier than myself with your TVR experiences.Golden goose to you maybe- personally I can't wait to see them go under.

WTF are you on a TVR enthusiasts list then? Do us all a favour and buy a Porsche/BMW, sounds like you will be well suited....

I have owned some really unreliable junk in my time.... I have also owned four very reliable TVR's, you are the exception and not the rule....

All I can say is I wish I had the money to buy a Tuscan, and hope that TVR go from strength to strength.

For now I guess I will just have to enjoy my Griffith 500, she is not perfect, but it always makes me feel good.

Ok, time for some perspective - TVR is a company of many people. These people get up in the morning and go to work - they dont work at TVR to do a bad job. They dont sit there and think "who can I stuff this time". They are simply a bunch of people that are trying their best with limited resources.

To be honest we should commend them for the ability to produce ANYTHING given the amount of money that they have (that is not a detriemental comment - but when cars cost $1Bn or more to develop you get the picture).

So let me get this right - you are quite happy for the several hundred odd people in Blackpool to be out of jobs then? What about all of the suppliers etc - probably looking at 1000's at that point. Nice to see that you are a caring and compasionate person.

Lets just hope that your company doesnt pi55 anyone off and people start hoping that you loose your job.....

Cheers,

Paul

David (Invest???)

Your constant TVR bashing remarks really are becoming tiresome. As many people have said Pistonheads is a car enthusiast’s site originally for TVR owners that has expanded to become a community for likeminded petrol heads. If you have an issue with TVR take it up with them, Ester Rantzen, Ann Robinson or Watchdog, but please for heavens sake get off the TVR enthusiasts forum.

Be seeing you Rich...
