RE: LHD Tuscans
Discussion
Just spoke to my dealer in Belgium, and have been told
that TVR still hasn't got homologation for Europe.
They failed or haven't finished emission and noise tests.
As I am desperate to get my Tuscan, we agreed to put it
on a British number plate for a couple of months, and
after that we can register the car in Belgium without
passing emission and noise tests. This because the car
has been registered in another European country.
LHD development was ready, so I don't expect any problem there. I hope to have some more news later this
week.
Cheers,
Koen.

My car has now got a production number, and should be
ready end of February / beginning of March.
As I said before, the LHD version is completely finished, but still haven't got the right documents to
get it homologated on the continent.
I will now get the car registered in England for 6 months, and after that I can register it as an "import"
in Belgium.
When the car is in its final production stage, I will visit the factory, and take some pictures of one of the first official LHD Tuscans.
I also heard that the German importer has a LHD Tuscan as demonstrator, but he can't get it homologated at the
moment.
Does any of the German PH members know about this car ?

When you call TVR, they say they are working on coming to the USA.
Are you saying PT, that they say that just to get us off the phone?
Dicky-bird = word. It's Cockney rhyming slang... more at
www.peevish.co.uk/slang/articles/cockney-rhyming-slang.htm
As many have gathered from their interaction with TVR, they are indeed a law unto themselves and don't necessarily conform to stereotypical "corporate" behaviours. I'm sure they are "working on coming to the USA" and I'm equally sure that could mean anything from 'settting up a factory to build and sell LHD TVRs in the United States' through to 'Taking the kids to DisneyWorld Florida this summer'....
I posted this info last October in the TVR in USA under TVR NA started by Petrol Ted. Reading between the lines you realise that all is not well with the funding Meyado is trying to raise to start/finish the project. One of the reasons for the project apparently stalling seems to have somthing to do with the 'release' of one of the main players in Meyado. In not very pleasent circumstances. Whom, I believe, was one the main instigators of the initial project. However, I think that the project is still alive.

Despite a short delay here it is, phase 2 of the master plan!!
These are actual copies of the flyers sent out by Meyado

Minimum investment US$25,000, now don't all rush.
No word yet as to how they are actually going to make the cars more reliable and sellable.

Saw that way back when. Probably would have been interested if the factory was backing the initiative and didn't get the feeling this was like buying swampland. If all TVR needed was $8.4 million, they could work out some creative ways to come up with the $$.
When Peter Wheeler opens his mouth and says what he wants to come to the USA, then I will take TVR seriously. Until then, I have better things to do with my $$$.

Seems that the Tuscan has made it to Autorai, the Dutch motor show.
Can any local PHers get some photos???
I spoke with the importer, and they are taking orders for the cars,
but don't have many details until their main sales guy gets back from the show.
Does anybody know of the status for other countries (esp. Germany)?
