Its a Chrysler fitting of some sort - I'd also really like to know too if there is a space saver available. (Just need to figure out where we would jack the car up from as the body is out!)

So, if I am not jumping to conclusions, if you wanted to convert a Chimaera from 4 stud to 5 stud hubs, you would order Jeep 4x4 hubs?

Would be very careful about these. I bought one off fleebay for £20 a few years back. The space saver fitted but the tyre was far too big to get under the wheel arch. Never looked at buying a different size tyre though as other things like a 4.3 took priority biggrin.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I would love to try and get a definitive answer on this. Has anybody ever successfully fitted a space saver to a Tusc and if so can you share what the rim was from and what tyre size was on it?

I'm hoping to do some serious euro mileage this summer and would love to have a solution other than waiting for a breakdown truck. I've tried the crappy foam cans in the past – never again!

I've trawled all the previous threads I could find on the subject and gathered that we need 5 holes on 4 1/2 pcd.

Suggested makes were Volvo V40 & Jeep Cherokee but I would love to know if anyone has actually tried those or any other spacesaver rims and if they were useable?

Please post even if the one you tried was no good, at least we could cross it off the list smile

It seems to come up a lot so must be worth stickying this if we can get it nailed

Just wonder how much luggage space you'd lose having to carry around a space saver. Surely space is pretty valuable when you're storing the roof, screen, tools and luggage on a Euro trip?

Whilst the foam didn't inflate my tyre enough when I had a puncture, after using an air compressor to top it up, it didn't lose any pressure at after that. Therefore, I now carry a few cans of foam and an electric air compressor on long journeys.

Unless you have the larger front brakes many of my customers just buy Cerbera 16 inch alloy and tyres for about 35 quid and stick one in the boot - we have plenty if these in stock as everybody wants the larger 18 inch wheels these days

Thanks for that although I'd much prefer a space saver if I can find one, I just wouldn't have the space for a full size.

Good point - mine's a Mk1 with the standard 322mm discs if that helps to pin down a suitable rim?

Alot of the jap 5 stud cars are the same pcd . I have used one when I got a flat al Le mans one year . You will have to get a spacer machined up as the centre of the tve hub is to large and you will have to clear it . As Walford says you might have to put a rear on the front and a spacesaver on the rear.

Yes, they are the same.
My spare is from a Mitsi 3000gt.
Not sure if their are different models.

Cheers for that, there's two definite options I can keep an eye out for. Can I ask if the fitted tyre was the right size or did you have to swap it to get to the right diameter?
