Odd key fob behaviour
Discussion
This is an odd one...
A few months ago, I popped to the Bank to pay in a few cheques. I parked in the road outside, but when I came to lock the car, the button on the key fob wouldn't work. This was a bit of a nightmare as the car was unlocked, the parking was limited to 20 minutes and I couldn't disable the immobiliser to drive away. Fortunately/unfortunately, I found a heel bar nearby who were able to sell me some new batteries - a bargain at £8 for the two! After fitting the new batteries and trying the fob a few times, I got the car started and off I went.
The fob hasn't given any problems since and I hadn't given it any more thought (other than to add the manual immobiliser disarmer thing to my key ring). However, I went to the Bank again today, parked a few meters from where I did before, and the same thing happened again! Fortunately, as I had the manual override thing, I was able to get the car started this time. Now I'm back at home, everything is working fine again.
Am I being paranoid or do you think there could be something in the street by the Bank that is interfering with the key fob signal - deliberately or otherwise? Any thoughts appreciated.
