Replacement front indicators
Discussion
Has anyone upgraded their front indicators to LED?
Just seen on Powers site they do them for the T2 but understand they'd be too small for the T1.
Unfortunately one side got broken trying to take it out to replace the bulb, so if I've got to get a new unit thought an upgrade at the same time wouldn't hurt!

You can get complete units to replace the whole thing or you can just get a bulb.
I have fitted LEDs through out the TVR garage. You'll need a different indicator relay for the indicators or they will flash 'fast'.
You could fit a resistor instead but these get very hot. Frankly, swapping the relay is a 2-second job and a better option.
If you fit the bulbs then source coloured LED - yellow / orange / amber. They will be much brighter than filtering a 'white' bulb. Also fit a 'Cree' type LED somethig like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-x2-BA15S-1156-P21W-7w... Smaller bulbs are not that bright.

I made housing myself from @4" diameter stainless tube, cut at angle to suit original indicator housing for new indicators to sit vertical to match headlights, then bonded to body. Sidelights I machined from clear perspex and used original bulb holders from sidelights. Indicators are 90mm hella units

Hi Mk1fan, I've just gone for the CREE LED's as you suggest. Have you any details on the relay? (Sorry electrical bozo)I have fitted LEDs through out the TVR garage. You'll need a different indicator relay for the indicators or they will flash 'fast'.
