Looking to install a new stereo with Bluetooth connectivity in my Mk1 Tuscan S, the car presently has the factory fitted Pioneer DAB system.

Has anyone upgraded/replaced theirs with a unit which still incorporates the DAB functionality?

Cheers
Richard

be aware that you will only have rear speakers - this will mean that you won't be able to hear phone conversations (they are piped to the front speakers and not the rear ones).

I have the non-DAB version of this and works with my iPhone over bluetooth and also connected via usb to an old 160Gb iPod classic.

I have 4 speakers in mine, rear and side (behind seat belts), but for those with only 2 could you simply wire the rears as fronts?

I didn't bother with phone microphone set up on mine as too much background noise and didn't want a mic sitting out somewhere it wasn't designed for. Only problem now is it will still answer calls through the stereo, even if switched off. There may be a way to disable it altogether but haven't trawled through all the menus and I rarely get a call when in the Tuscan.

Per Mark's other thread, try to get the shortest chassis one you can, it's a tight squeeze behind there. I went for a Pioneer MVH-350 which seems to have been superseded by this:

DAB connectivity very good but TBH these days its easy enough to stream radio through BT and you get far more choice. Neither are as good fidelity as FM but then the sound quality suffers anyway with a lack of forward speakers in the Tuscan. I have 5 speakers including a subwoofer and power amp (as fitted by original supplying dealer) and it still isn't a match for either of my other modern cars with standard factory systems.

Thanks, I'm not really bothered about phone connectivity on the Bluetooth it's simply to play music.

Its hard enough talking to the passenger let alone having a telephone conversation biglaugh
