Do Tyre pressures vary between tyre options
Discussion
I understand that the Toyos are slightly less rigid on their sidewalls than other tyres. Whilst on a trip I had to replace the rear tyres and ended up going with Avon ZZ5s. On the trip, once they had bedded in, they were great and the car handled well. Since the trip, there is now less weight in the car, I adjusted the pressures down from the winter 2x pressures to the recommended levels and now the car feels unbalanced.
Obviously, having 2 brands of tyre on each axle is not a great idea, but with a 4 month old and a 3 year old in the household, I'd like to see if the balanced driving I experienced can be achieved again before buying a new set.
Question is, if I do I replace the tyres, should I replace the rear Avons for new Toyos, or the replace the front Toyos with new Avons?

I have Toyos on my Tuscan - just fitted with a new set of wheels. They are definitely too soft so I will be experimenting with some extra psi over the next couple of weeks. Short answer; yes I believe softer sidewalls can be offset slightly by increased pressures, especially on a lightish car.
