Time for an update. The chassis has been fully repaired with new outriggers and some other chunks of chassis. Zinc and powder coated. Bits going back on now, about another 3 weeks work according to Dom.

Shiny!

Ready for rebuild.

Suspension and wheels going back on.

Shiny Speed 6 with Zirconium coated manifolds.

It’s been a long haul with problems on the way (not down to Powers), can’t wait to get her back! She’s going for a full re-trim and respray when I get her back. She should be one of the finest MK1s out there when all the work is completed (IMHO of course wink )

So after quite a few months I picked her up today.
It felt very strange initially driving her after nearly 3 years. It was mainly motorway miles (125).
First impressions; the engine felt a bit rough at low revs, I’m hoping this will smooth out as the engine runs in. At higher revs 2-3K it is sweet! The increase in torque is really noticeable. Acceleration is smooth and effortless. Can’t wait for the car to be run in so I can really explore it and start giving it some beans!
It’s off to Bristol Avenue, Blackpool in the next few weeks for a full re-trim and respray. Pictures to follow.

Well, this car is taking it’s time! The retrim is taking ages for one reason and another. It’s all starting to come together now. Hopefully will be finished in the next two or three weeks.
Just been sent these pictures of the seat backs. The rest of the car will be finished in this colour.

Wow. What a great colour choice.
Thanks. From your profile pic it looks like mine was once the same colour as yours.

So, I got the Tuscan back a couple of days ago. What can I say? Simply stunning! It looks and drives beautifully. The engine is really loosening up and spools up really quickly, just got a couple of hundred miles to do before taking it back to Dom at Powers for the 1K service, then I’ll really see what it is capable of!
