The roof panel on a convert, does this sit at the top of the boot, just under the boot lid, like the Targa’s panel, or does it sit vertically like that of the Tamora?
I always found the roof panel on my Targa to be a really good option, easy to get in and out, and left all the boot to store/carry stuff.
Is the Convert’s panel as easy to get in and out?

Hi Nigel, from memory (yes I still have a functioning one) seeing other peoples cars, it sits on top as per the standard Tuscan.
After the alligator wrestling equivalent experience of putting the Griff roof in the boot, the Tuscan is a breeze.

I have to ask the reason for your question ......... you are not considering returning to the Tuscan fold are you ?
Red is a good colour (of course).

It can fit it both ways but I think the preferred way is to have it flat as per http://www.mytuscan.co.uk/downloads.php

The roof panel will have to sit flat directly at the top and underneath the boot lit. The rear "glass" (actually it is clear plastic) sit underneath it wherever it fits. You will have to slot the panel in a gap at the top of the boot and sit/ secure the panel with a catch. If it makes sense.

Talking to other Chimera owners, the Tuscans offer a better boot capacity. It is however not as easy to get access to the boot as the roof panel occupies the entire opening of the boot.

It is not hard to get in and out. I have had two Tuscans and from my experience, it is all depended on your carpet trim in the boot. My current Tuscan is a bit harder than my previous one. The carpet is really snug to the gap that I mentioned above when I try to slot the panel in.

My roof goes in the boot just fine, and as described by others, lays flat at the top of the boot, just under the boot lid.

You need to be careful with the rubber seal attached to the roof, as over time these can become damaged from friction caused by putting the roof in the boot, and them being bent etc as you slide the roof across the carpet.

I put a piece of cloth over each of the 2 corners to minimise this effect

Access to the boot is obviously restricted when the roof is in place, so if going on a journey, have those items you might need in the cabin with you during the journey
