Does anyone know of an easy way to improve the radio reception on my tuscan? I took it to the dealer who sorted it a bit, but it still crackles. They said 'that's as good as it gets in a TVR'. Is there a decent internal easy-to-fit ariel around or anything like that?

I usually listen to CD's or MP3, but when I do listen to radio it's crystal clear. I've replaced the standard head unit with a Alpine.

The mod-wise.com aerial has been fitted to other cars with great results. There is a guy fitting one into a Tuscan this weekend.

I tried it in my car a while back and it won't improve it. Having discussed it with the factory it would appear to be down to the RF from the LED indicators which use some weird wiring to power themselves. The newer cars have std telescopic aireils in the front wing which seems the best. Older cars have a Griff style amplified wire in the windscreen surround like mine.

The guy has fitted the aerial and the only problem is with the indicators, anybody know of a cure? Hand signals maybe!

Well that answers the question "Should I try the Mod-Wise aerial conversion on my Tuscan?" then

you could try fitting a suppressor on the indicators or on the head unit. Not sure what effect it will have. I would try myself but the car is on holiday in blackpool.

So, where are we up to? What should I do? Or where can I get it done? CD's are fine but I need the news, I no longer know what's going on in the world!!

The start point should always be with the best reception and see what is left to suppress. As far as the indicators are concerned, if it is RF then what ever is "sending" the signal can be shielded. Maybe a little transistor radio moved around the car to find the source, with indicators on of course. Then hopefully a shield will do the job.

I dressed up in the misses cloths but this did not improve the radio.
