You're right, it is a rust trap along with the battery tray on the other side.

I've read before that TVR didn't clean the welds properly before coating the chassis and it definitely looked like a lot of the worst rust on mine was around the joints.

You have to conclude they went straight to powder coat after only a minimal clean up and possibly standing outside
After all the welding on mine was complete I had it sand blasted then re coated within a couple of days.
Every joint had been wiped clean by the blasting so our chassis should fair better than the factory ones.

Its an old car isnt it , how many cars from this time do not need some kind of welding for a mot or at least advisories for rust. We know they had there issues from when they were built but i actually expected it to be worse.

Do you mind sharing what you’ve paid for the work done? Ive a Cerbera and whilst the chassis looks good it would be good to have a future figure in the back of my mind.
