In the Tuscan hand book it says that the warranty (for everything (I think), inluding engine) is just 1 year.
I was always under the impression that the warranty on the engine was 2 years?????

Yep, I think they all say that. That's TVR for you.

Ahhh, I take it that means it has got a 2 year engine warranty then...

Thanks andyvdg.

Also, can't understand why a lot of people don't use their TVRs in the winter. I can understand not using it when it is icy, but most of the time it is just cold or wet or both.

Me....I don't use mine much in the winter....it might get dirty!

What's other people's reasons?

I tend to drive less in the winter because of gritters and that nasty corroding salt...

The chassis. Have a look at the Waxoyl posts in the general TVR section.

The engine unit - not the ancillaries are covered on a TVR engine for a further 12 months from date of reg.

Also when new, although little is said about it around £1000 extra upgrades you warranty to a whole of the car from new for 24 months from the factory

Andy,
These Waxoyl posts are also confusing me (not difficult I know) but as the chassis is powdercoated, is the waxoyl process really required on vehicles less than 3 years old i.e most Tuscans S6's

Thing is Russ, the powder coating has a habbit of cracking and flaking away from the metal. Obviously when this happens you get a pocket in which water can collect leading to rust. Betre safe than sorry I guess. My Griffith is coming up 4 years old and there are a few areas like round the front wishbones where stones and muck thrown up from the road has slowly flaked the powder coating away. Hammerite and waxoil is a job for me this winter. Rich... p.s. good review of all the waxoil, underseal & rust-proof stuff in Auto Express this week, the T350 edition.

RussB,

If you are the same Russel 'Burger-fest' B***** seen donutting his car in Le Mans (and almost destroying my Tuscan, several tents, an innocent bystander and a bus in the process!) then I'd venture that it'd be a good idea to get your entire car rubber coated

Rich,
Thanks very much for clearing that one up for me, although I must say that chassis waxoyling was not a job I expected to be undertaking on a car less than 3 years old.
I guess I'd better get myself a copy of Auto Express on the way home so at least I will have some idea what type of job I shall be taking on this time next year.
Thanks again.
Right I'm now off to rip the p1ss out of Mike.E (off-line, of course )
