Yes! After 5 months of waiting, I finally have my Tuscan S!!!

I'm sure you all know the feelings you get when you switch on the engine and hear those cans burbling!

Now I just gotta keep hold of my license!

Pictures will be posted soon!

Done 200 miles now. And filled up the tank once already!!!

A few quality issues but what the fcuk! Can be sorted on a return visit to Mole Valley...

Up to 3000 rpm (Being careful not to go over!) it's sooo damn fast!

Anyone know what Code L means?

Same problem here - 1 off showing of code L

A - Speedo sensor not activating zero switch or switch broken
B - Speedo sensor not releasing zero switch or switch broken
C - Water level sensor not activating zero switch or switch broken
D - Water level sensor not releasing zero switch or switch broken
E - Fuel level sensor not activating zero switch or switch broken
F - Fuel level sensor not releasing zero switch or switch broken
G - Water level sensor open circuit
H - Air temp sensor open circuit
I - Oil temp sensor open circuit
J - Oil pressure sensor open circuit
K - Fuel level sensor open circuit
L - Erratic road speed sensor input
O - No communications between analogue and control

Had my 'standard' 2001 Tuscan 2 weeks....Absolutely great! The 's' must be awesome!!!??

Had mine (new S) since October. Exactly the same fault code 'L' occasionally pops up. Will get it sorted at impending 1000 mile service.
Mine also stutters a bit sometimes. But only a bit, and only sometimes. Have to get that sorted at first service as well. Nothing else though...

I get a code L everynow and then - but only when I come to a stop usually. Really not bothered, as it all works fine otherwise, and it's so rare that I can't be bothered to have anyone fiddle about with sensors and stuff in case they make it worse.. lol

Only other thing is a ticking noise from inside (?) the dash. Could it be a speedo thing?

I figured out the Rev Pod light adjuster so the lights flash if I'm going over 3,000 rpm!

What oil temp do you wait for before pulling off?

God knows what that is???? (1 tick, very rarely).

Pull away after only a minute or two. The book says while warming up don't exceed 2500 rpm.
So I don't go above 2,500 rpm until oil reaches 60 degrees. Takes ages, but must be done. Runs beautiful then except for the occasional stutter.

I was at Mole Valley on Saturday - think I saw your car being polished by gareth - looks spanking - lovely colour choice by the way!! (He.. He..)

Wonder what a T350 would look like in that colour??

Tempting!!!

I try not to move the car off the driveway til it's around at least 40degC. But I don't use the car everyday, so my life is easier as I can start it up before I go out and I'm never usually in a rush.

If it was my only car though I guess I'd have trouble warming it up everytime I use it - so just keep the revs down.

Some of the guys on the Tuscan owner's list had a meeting with Ben and a few others at TVR. They asked about running in and warming up and the guys at TVR emailed this down to the list...

RUNNING IN

Most importantly, drive fairly normally. Being too gentle with an engine when running in can be as bad as being too rough.

Although it is important to avoid full throttle or over 4,000 rpm during the first 1,000 miles, occasional bursts (c.5 seconds) of 75% throttle up to 4,000 rpm, will help to bed the piston rings in.

FROM COLD

When starting, please be careful not to let it rev straight up so please make sure that you do not give it anything more than a tiny bit of throttle while cranking it over and then lift off as soon as it catches.

Then try to avoid more than 3,000 rpm until the oil (not water) temperature has exceeded 40„aC, 4,000 rpm until 60„aC and 7,000 rpm until 80„aC. If it climbs above 110„aC, please keep the revs below 5,000 rpm until the oil temperature returns to normal.
