any advice please

I am taking delivery of a new tuscan in the next 2/3 weeks,(always wanted one,kind of dream come true & all that stuff.)got it in rosso pearl.looks stunning. as this is my first tvr I would very much appreciate any advice/tips on looking after&keeping her running smoothly. This is my first posting on this site, but have visited on several occasions & some of the tales of woe (engines going bang ect,ect)fair fritt the hell out of me.Anyhow took the plunge anyway,many thanks.

congratulations i am also waiting to pick up mine purple illusion with navy trim. anyhow i hope all goes well it seems that more of the later cars are less problematic than the earlier tuscans. i am not up to much on running in but i am sure you shall recieve much helpful advice from this site (very good web site)

Basically common sense really. Run the car in properly first, and then afterwards (as well as during the running in period) do not use much throttle until the engine is thoroughly warm (oil as well as water). Beware the use of the throttle in the wet. Check all fluid levels regularly, at least every week, more often if doing big miles. Use the car on a regular basis, all cars hate neglect!

I also have a rosso pearl griffith. This color has a tendancy to fade more than most other colours so If possble store the car out of direct sunlight.
I keep mine covered over in a blacked out garage.

I tend to leave mine running for a few minutes until the oil and water are up to temperature, then slow drive to warm up the mechanicals.

Remember to check the oil regularly, as they can burn a fair bit.

Other than that, treat it with a bot of respect and it'll reward you in return...

Congratulations! i'm sure you're well aware that you'll shortly own one of (if not THE) craziest car available today.

I let mine warm up for 10-15 mins in the morning before going anywhere! Read the post or have a shave in the car to save the boredom!

There WILL be niggles! Do not be negative. Mine leaks water, squeaks, rattles and knocks. I have only done 500 miles and this is normal for a GRP body car. It takes time for it to flex into a natural position. Then everything should be bolted down and seen to after that.

Be prepared to talk to strangers, take abuse and eye up stunning ladies!
