TVR have made the window switches on the Tuscan very stylish but am I the only one who thinks that they are not the most practical of systems??!! Unless there is something wrong with mine, it seems that you simply cannot just wind the window up or down without multiple fiddling with the switch and the window then playing catchup sometimes and not others?

I think 'idiosynchratic' is the word. After 30 months in my car, I can wind em up and down in one go without thinking about it - but they are fiddly! On the other hand, the 'oh gosh - they are fantastic' comments regularly received from occasional passengers is nice (even if you are thinking "well, they seem so at first - but the novelty has worn off by now...")I suggested to TVR that they put a 'press for fully down' operation - like the one that turns the heater fan on and off -

I agree, I one touch 'all the way up' and 'all the way down' would be very useful. If pressed the switch does actually stop the window in the middle of winding. Does yours do this?

I got my Tuscan (new) on 1.12 and my drivers side window has gone 'mad' as well. When you open the door if drops down initially, then goes the whole way down. Sometimes it will go back up , sometimes it wont...very hit and miss and is really annoying!

MY pass side window did that last week. I think it was as a result of all that rain. When the control unit (which is in the door) gets damp the window can be very erratic. Once it has dried out is should be ok but if it doesn't fix itself then a replacement module is only £20 odd.

Enter car to start 1.5 hour journey in what could be called a tropical storm, and yes you guessed it the window would not go up!

The module had gone mad and that was that! I think there should be a manual over-ride, plus the fact when the window finally went up it was when the door was open and when I was forced to shut the door the glass scratched the door surround!!!!

Mare, it was cheap to get fixed, hours labour plus part which was about £10...

Just make a roll it along the outside of your hand in from top to bottom and this gets the window(s) open in one go!

Yes I think that a one touch feature would be a benefit and the window buttons push down anyway!

Oh great! My window is going mad! It opens half way, then the door opens, then the window goes down even further.

When I close the door the window only goes half way up so I have to reach in, roll the window button, get my arm out pronto then lock the car which puts the window up to the top.

Got my arm locked in the window yesterday when I didn't pull it out in time!

Is it just me or does anyone else think that the passenger knob should rotate in the opposite direction. As it is the same switch as the driverside and not mirrored.

I wonder if its as simple as changing some connectors over to get it to work in the opposite direction.

absolute classic! I pulled up at home the other night with a mate (his first run-out in a Tuscan) Left him in the car while I ran for garage keys, it was raining cats, ran back because he was obviously stuck in the car (didn't know how to get out!)

I'd left the door just open! (the window was down that bit) stuck my arm thru to point out the push switch and must have gently pushed the door closed - bssssss, window closes as I'm pointing like mad at the radio area, big scream, arm trapped in door

Does that window bite when it's wound up on your elbow!

It seemed like years passed before my flapping passenger worked out that the small brass button was a door opener

Finally freed my arm and looked all around quick, see if there where any other Tuscan owners around just in case! (no not embarresed)

Tricky elecky window switches ? Bring back the windy roundy handle - at least your arm's safe!!

Did a similar thing in my Cerbie as I got out of the car I was putting my jacket on , managed to trap part of the sleeve (right arm) in the window and could not reach the switch. Had to take my jacket off! of course hapened to be on a busy road at the time.....Doh!
