Hi everybody, I am a new member to PistonHeads although I have been viewing it as a guest for a while now.

I have just placed an order for a new TVR Tuscan from Kerridges in Needham Market (Suffolk)!

It should be with me sometime in March and I can't wait! Gone for Moonraker black with Portland grey interior. Looking forward to going to Blackpool and actually seeing them building my car! Finding it hard to stop grinning now though! I am sure everyone that sees me out and about thinks I am some kind of simple-minded fool!

I hope that I can share all my experiences with you and let you know how the latest build of the Tuscan hangs together. I am sure that 99% of the niggles have been fixed now but as my dealer is only 20 minutes down the road it shouldn't be too bad if minor things go wrong!

P.S. Really does look like the Batmobile in black!

Well done and welcome to the group!

If you have any problems, large or small, there are a large number of knowledgeable people on this board.

I think most of the people on here are also members of the Yahoo group so you can flick betwen the two for info!

Good luck with your car and be sure to read the FAQ section here to get you aquainted with some TVR 'eccentricities'!

Hi Peter!

Big welcome to PH and the Tuscan Forum

Well done on the order, top decision, keep us all posted as to the progress of the build and then we of course we will want to see pictures in March, and to come and point at it and look at it!!

In the meantime it will give you time to stitch up your Bat cloak and mask, and adjust your rubber underpants!!

best wishes

Welcome! I picked up my Moonraker black Tuscan a couple of weeks ago. While I was washing it yesterday my neighbour's daughter asked where I kept the Bat Suit

Well done pete.

I just put in my order on Saturday for a new Tuscan 'S' having spent last 7 months as a Chim owner..see my topic on here somewhere. I coudn't decide on Black or Cascade Copper...but in the end the C Copper won the day.

May see you sometime in Feb at Blackpool...I'll look out for yours.

Alan.

Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome! Thats one of the things I like about this group, the sense of humour!

Bit of an update on specs... As I said before, it is Moonraker black but I've gone for the 18" alloys (silver) and D.A.B radio as I hear the standard one is, erm, lacking in reception! I have also ordered the 4.0-litre option but I hear that in about 4 weeks time you can only order them in the 3.6-litre format.

Alan, I will keep my eye out for your Cascade Copper Tuscan S when I am there! When are you going to Blackpool? I am going in about 3 weeks time as I am told that is the best time to see them working on your beastie!

Welcome, sounds like a nice spec. Funny about the 4.0 engine, they told me that when I bought my car!

Cheers.

Pete,

Waiting on Lisa at TVR factory to call me, so should know when I can go up soon. I would assume our cars will be close on the line. They have to ship over the Cascade Copper paint from California, so am hoping it will be soon.

Andy, I see another thread has been launched talking about the difference between the 4.0L and 3.6L engines... Maybe it is just to keep people on their toes?! Still, I think "I have a 4.0L" sounds better down the pub when talking/showing off with your mates?!

Alan, I ordered my Tuscan on Saturday as well so I am guessing they should be around the same stage? I guess the build time is about the same for an 'S' as it is for a standard Tuscan? Although it sounds like your paint is more exotic than mine!

I wouldn't have believed I would be this impatient, I just want to drive it now and can barely wait till March...?! I am like a kid again and get all fidgety and day dream at work, must snap out of it!

Thanks again to everyone and speak soon...

Peter, I bought a 4.0 litre for the same reasons, I think it may be more desirable in the used market (not that I'm selling!). I wanted something different than the Tamora, I wanted something faster (more torque), but didn't want to spend the large premium for an RR (or S as it would have turned out) for just 20 or 30 bhp more. I wonder how long the standard 4 litre cars will be supplied, given that I had one of the last ones 19 months ago!

yes sadly it is an incurable disease! my GP has tried everything, the only thing that seems to work is OPTIMAX - several litres taken at least once or twice a week

sorry 'n all

Thanks Simon but tried that already, I find that Optimax just makes me dizzy?!

Just been into the TVR garage again today just to get another fix and look at the Leven bits-n-bobs. Will have to ask for the petrol cap for my birthday I think!
