Has anyone actually had a reply to their e-mails? If not why not pester them?

nope.....no reply

I checked out the article just now, TamGirl is right it reads like this now:-

Gavin Conway

The others will be kicking themselves that I got here first because the TVR Tuscan is the mother lode of rubbish design. It’s everywhere you look.

The frustration begins before you even get the thing started. The immobiliser is in this super-awkward spot in a trough on the dashboard — I found it a two-handed job to get the little prong into its slot and you look exactly as though you’re hot-wiring the car as you do it.

Once it’s running, you’ll notice a big digital rev counter, the numbers flashing up and down crazily as you blip the throttle. You’ll get a migraine trying to keep track of the engine speed, which is a major step backwards from regular old analogue dials.

For its next trick, the Tuscan will attempt to blind you. Take the roof off on a summer’s day and if the sun is behind you the chances are it will strike that polished brass instrument surround. Which is like having your eyeballs seared by a carefully aimed mirror.

Need more petrol? Well, the fuel filler is in the boot, which is terrific for giving your luggage a little eau de 98 octane

'The others' that our dear Gavin speaks of were presumably sensible enough to appreciate alternative vehicle design and low volume car manufacture!

Who is for hasseling for an apology ?

I'm up for hassling. At least an apology in reply to my email would be good. (Any reply would be good!)
I'm off to follow it up now. Who else...?

Peeps - the fact that you got the on-line version changed is rather amazing in itself - I wouldn't push your luck - next time they may tell the world that TVR's are actually cool cars that "golikestink" - and then every fcuker will be after one....

Think of the residuals... Think about BMW dealers turning into TVR dealers......

Be happy you are in an exclusive club

It is a good result to get the info deleted from the web. I doubt that without all of the emails/mail etc coming from owners as a result of being alerted via PHs - it would have stayed there forever. A bit of self congratulation is in order.

Mr Conway is still a prat though - and there is nothing we can do about that fact. Who's off to TVR to have the 'mechanism' modified then? All at the expense of the Sunday Times, of course.

I don't think they should print an apology (as it may only serve to attract further public attention to the publication), but to acknowledge each article of correspondance they have received from us is the absolute least they can do. I wonder what Ben Samuelsen and Mr Wheeler think about that article?

I, along with everyone else here, havn't got a reply from the Sunday Times. But I have to say, whilst it was pretty stupid to print it, it is more stupid not to have it at least protected it with a lock using the same barrel as the ignition! If my memory of my old Griffith 500 was correct wasn't that the way it was done there??? never needed to use but seem to have read it in the manual(??)
