The speedo needle can be a bit 'wavey' at times - but should not go mad over 100 mph. It sounds like the speedo sensor may need a very slight adjustment to get it to read steadily. A quick trip to a dealer should sort it inexpensively. Is the digital speedo OK?

Sorry, just read your post again - more carefully! Ignore me please, not enough coffee yet!

The pod is a bit of a wobbly effort in my car but it does not vibrate. Maybe time to invest in some little pieces of velcro under the 'feet' - but not had this so not tried it.

Crystal Topaz - great colour! ( so is mine!).

Will look out for it. My interior is beige with a mid blue not sure what they call it. Dealer just offered me some really cool blue enamelled front and rear badges.

The whole pod, or just the change-up light..er...thing?
After my pod went back home to have the speedo fixed
the change-up light thing starts wobbling at around
about that speed. Or thereabouts.

hi no it is the whole pod. makes it impossible to read any of the display. does not shake hardly at all below 95mph.Have tried adjusting tilt but makes no difference dealer will look at it but wasnt sure if this was just a normal quirk.

No - not a normal quirk from what you describe. Mine sits solid at that speed (and higher )

Go for the badges - I got blue and silver enamelled front and back from Leven - looks great with Crystal Topaz. Cost £70 exchange for the 2 badges. Also got the Leven fuel filler cap - much easier to get off than the TVR original.

Noted that you are interested in a blue rear screen from Richard (RCA). I got a sample of the perspex from him but it looked a little odd compared to the rest of the car's glass, so I stuck with the normal green tint. It would be interesting to see though.

TUS 373, Has your pod always been rock solid or did your dealer sort it out for you? Mine has always had a bit of wobble above 95 just like Lady Topaz's. According to my dealer "they all do that sir". They improved quite a bit by rebalancing the wheels but it's still annoying.

Never even thought about 'pod wobble' because it has never been a problem. If I touch the pod, then it certainly has the capacity to wobble - it is not a rigid fixing at all. Then again, it does not shake at speed either, cannot say why not, just...well...doesn't? I've always been pleased with my car because of the lack of rattles, wobbles, shakes and creaks. Much better than my old Chimaera - but then the Tuscan chassis will be more rigid with having front and rear roll bars. Only rattle/shake I get is from either the roof or rear window - but strangely only when the car is cold. Once it is warmed up and running - it is fine ?! Maybe the GRP has to warm up a little bit too???

I use to get a bit of pod wobble at higher speeds & it seemed to get worse with more mileage however after a four wheel lazer alingment it was much better, & then after fitting new 18" wheels & tyres it has disapeared. So maybe a wheel balance & re-alingment is all thats required.

A lot come from the factory incorrectly setup so it's worth a check.

My car is five weeks old and I have also noticed "pod shake" at around the ton. I assumed it was a wheel balancing issue. The car has it's first service next week, I'll get the guys to check it out.

I have this amusing vision of a line of previously fine Tuscs queued up outside service depts to sort out pod wobble. My guys are going to hate me.

TUS 373,
I think you're spot on with the warm up theory on the GRP. I've only ever had a squeak from any other body part, mainly around the doors when it's been cold, my garage gets extremely cold and also retains the lower temp when it's warm outside. I also had this problem with the S3 when I split the rear window screen, it was @13oC and sunny "winter season" outside and I made the mistake of taking the roof etc off inside the garage, a £210 repair bill but now a whole lot wiser. I never take the Tuscan out now without warming it up, although others might say that this could cause other problems, at present it seems to have resolved the ones that I had experienced. The only other squeak to note was the contact on the roof panel where the rubber seal could dry up, and the rear screen contact points, but the lads at Blackpool showed me where to lubricate these areas.I now use "very seldomly" a Silicon lubricant "Hepworth 2o" only because I can pinch it from our stores, but it works a treat, it's a little messy as it never dries up, however I keep a kitchen roll in the boot to clean up after each use.

Ah, not just me then?

I find it a little embarrassing when taking people out for a run in the Tuscan. They come to my house, I back it out of the garage and off we go. I take it easy whilst the engine warms and the body of the car is rattly. Its only 15-20 minutes later that everything is warmed up, smooth and quiet - by which time we are usually on our way home. So the main thing that people remember from their first trip - is all the wrong stuff! I must take people on longer drives - or warm the car up thoroughly first before they come round!
