Hi Lee,

Were your engines S or RR engines with the decat chip to pass the MOT? I ask as my RR/S engine would not pass the MOT with this chip from TVR Power and needed it's cats put back in.

Re-map is not essential, it depends on the status of your current map, a lot of Sp6 engines run too lean.

BigJL, your S with CCC's and decats will be loud, but it's all down to how loud you consider loud. smile

cheers

Hi Whitey

Both mine are standard engines never bothered to remapp ECU either car. The first one 2002 we tried to MOT without cats emissions only just over limit so after several attempts and very red exhaust manifolds we felt it is probably possible to pass if car has just been serviced.
At 4000 rpm emmisions are low enough but did not want to chance killing my engine as both pipes have to be tested.
I decided to put cats back in passed no problem.
When i put it on a rolling road it came in at 380 BHP don't know if decatt added power, it's academic really tuscans are not slow.
The main reason i have decatted both of mine is the SOUND and cost of cats if it does not pass MOT.
After 6000 miles my cats were showing signs of wear!! Decatt pipes are a lots cheaper than a pair of cats, if you can still get them.

I took the CATS off mine, and emailed Powers to get their upgraded ECU.

Andy informs me that I need to send them the wiring loom for adaptation.

Anyone know what needs to be done to it? I do not want to screw up my Lambda sensors by not getting the ECU remapped

I bought my Tuscan two years ago. Loved the sound, found out later after it flew straight through it's MOT that it had been decated and sleeved.

downfalls: Ears bleed after two hours of driving, can't go to track days as it's too loud.

However, the grin across my face every time I drive it is worth it.

Just find yourself an 'TVR sympathetic' MOT man wink

It does however run rich I think, however the chap that does the servicing (TVR specialist) says it's fine, so who am i to argue. I just turn the key and start smiling
