Just been having a look at this 2002 Black Tuscan as mentioned above. Looks as though it has been knocking around for a couple of months since at least July. Always make you wonder a little bit. I know it is only 2 months but I am guessing a top example or cheap example would fly pretty quick?

Anyone seen, looked at it or have any info?

Did you decide against this then mate? I still can’t make my mind up!

Bit of a thread bump as im getting my tuscan back on the road after a period of it sitting there.

What amazes me (and it isn't just tvr's) is the amount of cars for sale which have 20k and less miles. Whats going on here? these cars are old now and reading threads like this where loads of people had high milers years ago i wonder why they are always so low......

mines done 66k although ive only done 11k since buying it 8 years ago! mainly because the last 5 years i have done about 500 miles due to many other commitments. this summer though she's coming back smile

M3^^^,
that kinda puzzles me too....where have the medium to high milage cars gone?

Mines just gone through the 100K miles now. I've had the car since 2009 and was on 30K when I purchased it.
A rebuild to 4.3 by Jason at STR8Six, new clutch and several replacement slave cylinders, 2nd hand engine ECU, refurbed steering rack and a cylinder head later...and it's still going strong.

About 50K miles after rebuild, it was on the rollers at Surrey Rolling road (7th December last) and it made 412.9 bhp. My best moment that day was Mike Saunders saying "who mapped the car"? My reply was - its as it was set up by Jason in 2012 following the rebuild.

Mine is sitting on 20k still and has been for a few years as it’s only really moved from the house to the MOT station every year as I’ve not had time to use it, but in too attached to sell it!

84k on my 2000 Tuscan 4.0l.
Rebuild by TVR at 35k and then at 70k by Str8six. That was Jan /Feb 2007.
Used as my daily drive. thumbup
Go on my son thumbup
To update, unfortunately she was written off in May 2009 at 89k miles. frown

I replaced her the same month with a lovely 2006 full convertible.
10+ years later this one is on 86k miles without rebuild.
Most mileage run up with annual Continental holiday runs. smile

You do need to wonder don't you. My first TVR was a Tasmin; I purchased it with about 70,000km on it (43k+ miles), and sold it with just over 425,000km on it (about 264k miles). Funny, it came up for sale a few years later advertised with something like 50,000km on it! I did talk to the seller a couple of times - pointed out mileage is likely 450,000 and he stopped all communications.

Forever young.

Wow! a story which i think may be all too familiar. Have heard it goes on a lot in prestigious marques.

I am sure i recently read an advert for something like a carrera gt which had something like 6k on it. It was being described as one you could use as it had higher mileage!

In any case i am getting mine back on the road and am going to use it!

I never understand this obsession with low mileage. I always trust a car more that has been owned and driven by an enthusiast. Regular and frequent driving, especially on tour, is the best preventative maintenance!

My Tuscan 2 from 2005 has punched through 70,000 miles now and probably would have done more if I hadn't just my Chimaera through the 60,000 mark! These cars deserve to be cherished, but I think that the best place for that is on the open road not just in the garage!

I really applaud all the people that are using their cars, it a shared experience and a lot of people get a real kick out of seeing these cars out and about.
