Almost sold my Tuscan due to poor handling! Fixed for £20!

I have to admit, I did sell my Tuscan in the end, but the good news is that I've bought another one. This time it's a cat d jan '00 car.

I was wondering, out of the people that bought the spacers, how many fitted them to cars that were built pre march '01? And, did it make a positive difference?

Mine had them - Dec 2000 car, original type shocks (at the moment), 18 inch rims. Spacers helped, correct front tyre size helped more.

I have a late 2000 car with Nitrons which was quite skittish. I fitted the spacers and the car has settled considerably. I can comfortably drive with one hand on the wheel now without having to grip on for dear life.

235/40/18 If I am interpreting the invoice correctly. (Can't look on the car as its hiding under a cover in its cosy garage)

Wheel spacers fitted and a lot less twitchy.

Running :-

235/40 R18 front
245//40 R18 rear

with the spacers mounted, the hub studs seem almost short to me, what do you think?

Swap the studs out for ones 3mm longer.

Studs too short on my mk1 too.

Any recommendations please on where to source longer studs? 1/2" UNF I believe. Are they a common type or is there anything special to watch out for?

That‘s where I got mine for my Wedge. Ford are usually M12x1.5 so check yours before you buy.

May I ask what the PCD on a Tuscan wheel is ?

My car has the S upgraded front brakes so the PCD on mine is 114.3 mm with a centre bore of 71.6 mm.
