Here are the Specs of my 1986 Moonraker Blue 300 bhp Twin Plenum Vitesse
Rear brakes:

Discs are specially drilled from a standard BMW E34 5 series disc

Callipers are standard rover 820, with a lever welded on for handbrake cable

Rover 820 Brake Pads

Handbrake is standard cable

Rear suspension:

Uprated standard Vitesse height springs

AVO shocks

Poly bushes all round

Rear lights:

Brake lights now carry a dual filament bulb holder to allow an extra side light bulb.

Front brakes:

Jaguar XJS HE callipers and discs

Mintex 1144 pads

Stainless brake hoses

Castrol SRF silicon fluid


Front suspension:

Bilstein magnesium coilovers fitted with 350lbs springs

Poly bushed all round

Cooling:

Custom made aluminium radiator with twin Kenlowe fans

Thermo switch is from a ford fiesta


Ignition:

Range rover platinum plugs

8mm Magnecor HT leads

Mallory Unilite dizzy

MSD high voltage coil


Fuelling:

High power fuel pump

Jaguar XJ6 injectors

FSE adjustable fuel pressure regulator

Intake/exhaust

Jaguar XJ6 airflow meter

Heat dissipating block to keep air cooler in plenum chamber

Flowed intake manifold, polished out to size of gaskets

Rimmer sports exhaust system with tubular manifolds, covered in heat wrap


Clutch:

AP green spot clutch kit

Stainless braided line

Silicon brake fluid


Engine:

Range rover 4.6 stiff block from RPI

Piper 285 cam

High rev lifters

Stage 3 heads from RPI


Interior:

Astrali Black leather steering wheel

Sony 4” speakers

Kenwood cd player with remote

Get busy waxing every nook and cranny..just in case..

I`ve been using your photos to size up colours for a respray on mine...
What other jag stuff fits SD1`s too...? i.e brakes ,suspension,gearbox, other components...?










ooo...I like candy red...but I like that that Gold too!

I love the race look too! Mine is part stripped out inside at the moment ready for Sunday at Santa Pod. It really sounds raw and racerish inside. You can also hear the pops and bangs from the Exhaust better as well.
As for those colours that looks cool. I really like the blue one.

Have just bought a Vitesse myself, and am loving it...do they all have towbars???

It would seem so! Mind you they did come out as top tow car in their day.

K 5ive - your car looks fantastic, hopefully I can get close to that standard of prep!; this Saturday a nice man with a low-loader will pick mine up from it's lock-up and take it away for recommisioning. Must be nearly 10 years since I last drove it which is absolute sacrilege! Mine's a 100% stock, 1985 SP, in Silver Leaf (I think they called it).

I'll take some snaps at the weekend, when it sees daylight again...

Did you build the rear disc conversion yourself or did you buy it?

I'm looking for a conversion for the rear of mine

It was already on there when i bought it. Have you seen the article in the SD1 Club Mag? The kit is available from Ken Clarke Motorsport. The Kit costs £390.00 for solid Disc and £460 for vented. TBH you really only need the Solid disc as this is what i have and my Car stops as well as it goes.

Cool, I'll be getting one of those bad boys then.

Not seen the article, only just re-joined the club (2 days ago).

Do you have number for him by any chance?

Also,was it a pain to fit the rear head reasts? I have a couple of Vitesse fron seats spare and was pondering if I could modify the front head rests to fit the back.

It feels good to be messing about with Vitesse's again, been far too long.

No as they are resting there! however they do not move about and are quite happy there. When i find a scrap SD with the base bits that they go into, i will modify it accordingly. I do not have the number but i will try to find it out.
