Got to say that's very tempting bargain power. Sell the plate, car's free!
Personally I'd pay to get rid of the irish reg! It makes it look like a cheap import, or an owner who really likes to skimp on things, pretending they have a private reg!

Bargain smile

I must be mega-pedant though and point out that the Tony Pond record was set in a 2.7 V6 (Honda engine) engined car, not the Rover T16 turbo.

Coat got...
FEEL IT IS MY DUTY TO POINT OUT THAT THE 2.0 TURBO
accellerates quicker and has a higher top speed than the kv6 model and would no doubtedly be a little faster around the tt circuit (yes/no?)
I feel it's my duty to point out the 2.7 V6 Honda engine was not a Rover KV6 wink

I'll be honest, I do actually like '90s Rovers. Especially the 600 & 800. The 220 Turbo Coupe was quite a significant car in itself as it was one of the first properly affordable cars (on sale in Britain at least) that did 150mph. Ten years earlier you'd have needed a 930 or a Turbo Esprit to do this. The 220 GTi was one of the first hot hatches with 200bhp, and I also like the Cabriolet a lot, although I can't really justify that paperbag

So, not a complete joke then. And what was Ford giving us at this time? The Escort Mk IV, Scorpio and Orion, and the Sierra's last twitchings. Ooh, thrilling...
Slight correction -it was the 220Gsi Turbo that had 200bhp
220GTI ran 140bhp

what impressed me most was the overall economy. I mean, 38.4 miles to the gallon at a constant 56 miles per hour, I think makes it a class leader
