RE: Jaguar R Coupe!

In my mind, the slushbox issue has become a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy at Jaguar. By producing more autos, more auto lovers (i.e. those that want to get from A to B rather than drive the car) buy Jaguars, Jaguar realise this and produce even more autos and so on. And lets be realistic about the need for success in the US, which means autos MUST be produced, but handling doesn't really matter. The result? In this country, Jaguar still has something of an old man's image and despite beautiful exteriors, cannot compete with the likes of Porsche when it comes to drivers' cars. Be brave and stop the trend. Bring out a Jaguar that must be driven, not one that tries to minimise the driving experience. This means manual transmission, good feedback from the road (there's virtually none in an XK8) and let the engine breathe and sound like you know it could. With the power of the brand and fantastic exterior designs, it must be a winner. Oh - an please don't waste money on valet parking buttons and cruise control.

I got a XKR cab its agood car , fast and a cab which is important to me and i guerss most of you Dudes , mine is lowered and handles suprisingly well even if it feels like it is not , the thing is its a great car BUT its just not sporty enought . i would luVV a manual box XKR and look foward to the XKF but i guess Jag (FORD) will not let the F compete with the XKR range and thats a pity , because Jag need ( i think) a raw performance car , the XKR is plenty fast enought , for example , bouncing off the limiter on a hill , but it just dont have the driver intimacy that a sports car should have.
