That said, V12 inside, why do you love the AudiTT so much if they haven't stuck a 12 cylinder engine in it?

The reason the Audi TT always gets slightly derided on this forum is that it is based on a Golf/Beetle/Audi A3 platform, and therefore has its roots in family hatchbacks. Not a great pedigree for a so-called sportscar.

The new Lamborghini has a pedigree you can trace back to the Miura, engine at least.

Mind you, I think everyone agrees that the Audi TT looks pretty good (cross between a new Beetle and a Porsche 993 C2 in my book!) and is a welcome addition to the car world as it propogates style and decent design at an affordable price. All these great new interiors you see these days haven't exactly been inspired by Daihatsu!

The other point about the audi TT is the rear-end problem. ie push it in a corner and before you know it your facing the wrong way without warning. Good sportscars will give the feedback that you are close to the limit. My friend had his car wiped out by a TT losing it on the corner going off the road and hitting his car.

This is the first Lambo that I very badly want. Stylisticly they have encompassed the drama of the diablo but have given it far more elegance.

(was 'V12inside' a bit drunk when he wrote that reply??)
