These things are very nearly handsome automobiles. Must be the big coupe thing coming into play. The interior is typical Japanese of the era. Must be tough. Grey shoes.

The late, great LJK Setright once opined about these that the most superb thing about an overall superb car was the way the doors were hung and that, unusually for a car, they looked as though they'd been hung by an engineer and not a blacksmith!

I cannot believe how cheap used cars are in the UK. a thousand pounds is around $2500AUD thereabouts, getting one of these down here will cost you at least $14000AUD for a good one. Of course, you lot pay way more for new cars than we do but that's pretty much irrelevant given I'm a student. I'm rubbish poor and even I could find a way to get $2500 if it meant driving something like this and not a Hyundai Accent.

Can you guys down there not get cheap imports from Japan? All the Soarers in the UK are imports, the low values of older cars in Japan means low values here too.

Doesn't stop the hinge pivots wearing, though, and the doors are so heavy that pulling them shut splits the door trim.
Never mind -- everything can be fixed smile

Goes to show that time is the best way of testing quality and to some extent, looks. Look at Joanna Lumley.

I thought were cheap in Auz?? get yourself a Z20 soarer plenty of lads on Toymods have them & they are'nt that much. Most of them appear to have them as their first cars!

The equivalent of 1000 pounds down here gets you an early 90's local car with galactic mileage, a well looked after mid-80's small hatchback or a dying persons FC holden. When I said good soarers where 14000 I meant imports; they were never sold here officially either. Granted, used cars in general might be more pricey here because we have less likelihood of rust (dryer climate) but there's some weird differences between our two markets. Remember season 4 of top gear when they did the 100 pound challenge? Those cars here would cost around 4-5k Australian at least... around 2 and a bit k pounds
