I always thought the criteria for GBH was that the injury caused should be significant or if permanant isn't it section 11 ??? GBH or something, whatever it sounds that a pepper spray only causes temporary incapacitation so GBH must be well over the top I would have expected common assault or ABH tops but lets be honest I would have hoped for a "quiet word" or "be more carefull" from plod. The sad bit is for a GBH charge he could actually get sent down.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm not aactly sure if it GHB or what. All I know the last time we spoke is that he was going to court or assult of some kind.

I have a 6 cell MAG-LITE in my car. Redefines the expression 'torching' something (or somebody).

Watch out, according to a policeman I know, Maglites are an offensive weapon if the batteries are dead.

the 2 that bollocked me for the baton (see other thread) watched as I replaced it with a maglite and were perfectly happy with that, the only comment was anything you use can be viewed as a weapon if you hit someone with it...

A trolley jack and axle stands usually solves my problems - or bricks if you are nicking the alloys - sorry you cannot do that with ramps as there is a load on the wheels. Seriously though - I would always use stands as they are generally considered safer than ramps. If necessary get 4 to stand the whole car and use wooden blocks/offcuts as jack buffers.

Are they for real? So if you left it on one day, the fact that an irreversible chemical reaction has taken place in the cells, means that it is now illegal???

Best just carry a gun, and have done with it all.

Well - it looks like the crims get away with it, so why not the ordinary motorist? oh, I see.. crims = no plate, you = easily identified. Back to that old chesnut, sorry.

Not much good (and possibly dangerous) if you drop your keys trying to get in your car.

I'd go for Maglite. Or if batteries buying the farm are a concern, how about a wind up torch ?

Always carry a golf club. After all, I was just back from the driving range officer. I can also vouch for how much it hurts having been hit by one, and a golf ball for that matter
