Can someone confirm that I'm not going mad and have just heard correctly that in a Metropolitan Police crack down on muggings 3000 officers are being "re-assigned" from "persecuting motorists" ok they said traffic duties to "real bloody crime" ok they said street robberies. ??????????

last week my sons mate had stopped at some lights in Royston, (in his new mini) two scumbags pulled him out and started to punch his lights out, luckily my son was behind him and ran to help. They reported it to the local cops and were told the usual 'nothing we can do about it' They make me puke

This will sound daft, but which traffic lights was it! I ask this cos Plod are about 500 yrds max from 3 sets! They can see one when they look out the bloomin window!!!
(FYI I know my profile says Scotland, but I was born in Cambridge and lived in Royston for 14 years)

thanks guys, yeah they are both ok cept my sons pal has a nice shiner...just found out that the b*****ds received a proper seeing to by some of the locals once the word was put around, justice has been served no thanks to plod. Marshy, I'm back in the UK, you going to the Ferryboat on Thurs? Stuart, yep it was the lights by the cinema but plod is usually in a car somewhere
