Strange one that......I live in a 30 limit that has no street lighting. The 30 limit is then followed by a 40 limit with no street lighting. The first street lights are 2 miles from my home.

Certainly, with 30 limits appearing to be 'so long' a few extra signs would help.

But then I guess you will get the grannies complaining that they spoil the countryside.

So if I see no speed limit sign for 200m AND there are no street lights, then I can travel through the village at 60mph with impunity - I think not!

Actually I suspect that legally, you can.. the signage is wrongly set up..

ha ha! brilliant.
I think we ought ask the ABD on this. What a loophole that would be. Shit ! that would get me let off.

So tell me, they MUST have 40mph repeaters, the village I got nicked has NO street lighting, and I am damn sure no signs apart from at the start of the village.... wow. I need to go and check this out later. Good excuse to take the bike for a spin.

Cheers lads.

Check out the speedtrap bible, www.speed-trap.co.uk/index.html there's tons of stuff about the regulations on there. e.g. Did you know that the 30mph signs at the start and finish of a 30mph section must be illuminated, even in daylight? So if the bulb is broken, and they often are, you have a possible get-out! Rich...

The 30mph repeater signs are forbidden on urban roads because motorists are supposed to be aware that they are in a 30mph area because the street lamps are 200 yards apart, and the area is built-up.

Exactly why they need to post more signs. I dont relate to yards as I was brought up with the metric system.
