This is a sad day. Stock Car racing in America is a sport primarily dominated by those of southern origins called rednecks. The uncouth of the working class. I have truly hoped that the rest of the world would be spared from such a boring sport, but apparently not. There tends to not be very much passing, the cars are not that spectacular, and they go in circles for up to 500 laps at a time! F1, Touring Car, and GT racing are infinitely better. I am sorry that you Brits will now be subjected to stock car racing as well.

LOL... and I thought we Brits were supposed to be obsessed with class. The ASCAR series will be somewhat varied though. From the high speed oval at Rockingham to the narrow, windy, undulating track at Knockhill. You couldn't get more of a contrast.

I've seen more overtaking on 0.5-1.5 mile Nascar ovals (Dover - Atlanta - Charlotte - Martinsville etc...) in one race than I have seen in the last 5 of Formula One. I would also like to see the V8 Trans-Am cars racing over here like they do in the USA, Australia/NZ and South Africa. Edited by fourwheeldrift on Wednesday 28th March 11:35

Why are people so excited about this rubbish? The cars are nasty, horrible, primitive old heaps still running on carbs for God's sake. It's racing for fat southern yanks, and nobody knows what the cars really are because they're not even sold over here. Without Rockingham it wouldn't exist. The racing in Nascar isn't even exciting on Eurosport, and chassis set-ups appear to count for nothing as leads can be cut to nothing during a full course yellow for some "debris on the backstretch". I hope it sinks without trace. Probably won't, though, judging by the shocking Americanisation of this country...
