Is it a track/sprint car only? Curborough?

What spring rates are you running? Discussion above, a few of us now running 600/600 and happy.

I like how it looks, very purposeful, and despite not being a fan of wings in the past, I'm kinda digging the idea of a race car Cerbera now.

I bought this cerbera street legal in France,
I emptied it and I had a roll cage made so that it would be approved for racing in France,
I have a Youtube channel, if you are interested wink ,
then, I changed the original shock absorbers for Protech 2 Way,
I explained to the seller that I was doing track and race,
but he sold me shock absorbers with standard springs, result, I to put a lot of preload on the springs (I'll give you the odds)
and especially the hydraulics are very closed "2 clicks"?
Julian also advised me to change my springs and
Martin SHORT advised me to add 10% preload following the decoupling of the torsion bar

Did you do the Dijon Prenois this year? Are you planning to do it again?

Yes that was me. It was great fun with a big spectrum of cars. The Cerb still has a major cut out / misfire at just under 5k rpm which is really annoying so still have to short shift.

Going to change crank sensor as the laptop mapping shows the rpm dropping from 5k to 0rpm instantly.

Will probably change coil packs and ht leads at the same time whilst I’ve got everything apart
Good to meet you yesterday Paul.

It was a good day at Bedford for me, shame about your misfire. I hope that it is the crank sensor. These little niggles are often hard to find the source of the problem. Good luck!

I'm surprised you say that, looks pretty good to me!
I'm obviously not putting the effort in, I've always thought the cerbera was reasonably flat through corners...
Just thought with the discussion of spring rates above that looked like quite some lean.

Ahh ok, I think that would feel pretty flat from the driver's seat smile

Elise for comparison.

I was in Dijon this year at the beginning of May, I was testing a new wing (second-hand and Chinese) which opened in the middle, then the fixings broke, then in timed practice, I screwed up my front tires and to finish at the first race, I broke the power steering key after 3 laps, so no race two and back home (maybe I should create a separate post to avoid rotting this thread ??)

European S Club Tour went to the event last weekend - 20 odd TVRs in the 'dispaly area'.

I’m running 255 35 18 at the moment and they already rub on the drivers side under hard cornering. I’m going to fit the 475lb springs and try them.I want to check the clearance on the inside of the wheel. Maybe the offset is not ideal but I’m fairly sure 255 is very near the maximum I can fit on my car without body mods.
I am running 265 35 18 with ET+33 and it don't touch strong

Another update

I put a new set of HT leads on and 2 new coil packs in a hope to sort out the misfire. Reset throttle bodies and linkage.

Took it for a blast yesterday and all seems very very well biggrin.

Covered about 20miles a pushed it right up to the limiter on several occasions and not a single misfire, in fact I'd say pulling much cleaner than at anytime this year so maybe there was a slow breakdown somewhere.

Unfortunately had to cancel the last 4 or 5 track days of this season as I have slipped disc which isn't conducive to hurtling around a track in a TVR.

Will have to wait till next year to have some fun again on the track.

these are the old ones.

I always thought it would be worthwhile relocating the coil packs. Can't do them any good being sat in the middle of the vee. Or at least protecting them with some heat shield foil.

Latest updates of the supercharged Cerbera. On the last 2 trackday this year in hot weather the Cerbs brakes have become marginal.

Maybe its my driving, maybe its the extra power but either way they don't inspire confidence when the car is pushed hard especially with the AR1 tyres fitted which allow you to push on so much harder in the dry.

I was running the standard TVR AP calipers bells and rotors all round with DS2500 pads front and back. I had replaced the fluid. After about 5 or 6 laps of Castle Coombe the brakes were faiding and the discs a deep blue. Had a very scary moments at Avon Rise so decided to look at upgrades.

There's several different kits available but I ended up choosing the 6pot 360mm hi spec kit with floating discs and the largest CL pad i could get.

The call it their mega monster extreme kit which would look great in the pages of "Max Power" magazines. Thoes were the days.

Anyway kit arrived earlier than expected and certainly appears to be the real deal. Everything included, looks well engineered and beautifully finished.

Kit includes, calipers, bolts, brackets, bells, discs, brake lines, fluid and pads. Absolutely everything you need.

So the cars been up on the ramps again.

Full fluid service, engine oil, gearbox oil, diff oil, new CL rear pads, Brake bias valve so I can adjust front to rear braking effort and the new brake kit.

If its not wet im going to be at Brands Hatch on the 8th August so ill let you know how i get on

They certainly look the business.! Lovely Engineering by the looks of it.

I assume you are running high temp brake fluid?

I was running the same DS2500 set up on my 5.5 Chim with Tuscan four pots. Never had any problem over probably about 30 + Track Days plus.

I also run the same set up on my Octavia track day car and Boxster, which gets used for occasional Track Days. .
If the discs have gone blue, (that’s what happens on my Skoda using expensive Tarox discs) then, as you say they have been overheating. Not sure that is anything to really worry about as I have done at least a dozen Track Days since they went blue on the Skoda!

On my Boxster S, I use the same pads and they always remain shiny silver. Maybe I brake less in the Boxster!

Anyway, it’s a great upgrade and with the brake bias control, you can get the balance correct. Interesting to see how you get on.

They look great. I need a brake upgrade, my AP 4 pots have never been the same since being refurbed, weirdly enough. The above wouldn’t fit inside my 17” wheels though.
