any comments on relative merits or pitfalls would be very helpful, had chat with Waldonway today and they were about as unspecific as its possible to be without actually changing the subject completely...

thanks

4.5 Red Rose is the one to go for, if it meets the budget...

Of course they were, they don't care which one they sell you.

I would say it doesn't really matter. 4.5's are slightly more expensive but I would go for the one
that is in the best condition. Sounds obvious but when I was looking I saw some dreadful ones.

There is apparently little difference in performance and those who have had their cars dyno tested found that some of the 4.2's were giving more power than the 4.5's.

This is also fairly ambiguous but hope it helps.

an option would be to buy a cheap early 4.2 / 4.5 for about 20k and send it upto blackpool and sped 5k on it getting them to rebuild and add the RedRose pack, and to also add any modifications the newer cars have for reliability etc...

Then for 25k you have a pretty mint car.

Currently I am looking for 2nd LW RedRose which are hard to find (or expensive Christof ) and might do the first option and have some extra cash for brakes and suspension.

I'm looking for 41.500 GBP, that's not that expensive for my beastie.

So don't hesitate and buy the BEST ...

Will TVR retro-fit the Red Rose package to the older Cerberas (i.e 1998). Thought it was just an option for the newer models. How long would the conversion take?

Also what is the difference in performance statistics between standard 4.5 and 4.5RR, is it really worth £5k to upgrade.

I have been in a lot of Cerberas, and am on my second 4.5 (non RR). I can assure you, Christof's is the absolute best one I have ever been in. It is well-cared for and the performance is mind-blowingly FANTASTIC. If you are able to buy it, don't hesitate. I know I wouldn't

The actual first Red Rose engine built is in Martin Redwood's car, up for sale on Pistonheads at the total bargain price of 37k! I've driven this car back to back with mine - it's very nice indeed.

PS You can retrofit the red rose mod, for approx 4k. Mine was the first 4.5 retro fit in this way, not sure anyone else has yet.

My Red Rose Cerbera has now left the building - and is in the hands of a PistonHeads gasser. Sad to see it go ? You bet.

Now Christof can command his price !

Cheers Martin (beaver), the car is SEIZMIC and that is just taking it easy in this weather, it sounds awesome too.

Gona need plastic surgery to remove the grin from my face, but when a life ambition is achieved I have a pretty good excuse.

Glad you like it !

P.S I have some replacement cat pipes if you want them, I had them made and fitted last year for Le Mans, sounds even better plus a few flames.

Take it easy !

Ston - if you're going up to Joolz, he should happily fit them for you, ask him about his custom quiet back boxes too, and suspension mods. I've had my suspension replaced with Joospeed stiffer springs and Nitron dampers and it's completely transformed over the standard car.
