Never thought I would see a diesel TVR.
currently in development: new Cerbera with 480 lb/ft Diesel engine drive train. This car will have enormous performance as you expect from TVR at a budget fuel consumption

Sorry if this has been on before but the pistonheads search is down

Interesting - I wonder if it'd be the Audi A8 4.2TDi V8?

It has 480lb ft...

I don't think they have even built one new car since Blackpool under the TVR name, lots of talk on that web site and Facebook but little action or proof they will roll a brand new car out in a more main stream build yet like they did in Blackpool. I hope i have to eat my hat but i will keep my reservations.

Um... WOW!!!

I've had some serious performance cars and am still impressed with diesels. I drive a company car (BMW320d efficient dynamics 163hp) and am so impressed with it's performance!! My friend put me in his company car three years ago (Jag 2.7 twin turbo diesel) and that was SOOO quick!! I think diesel is the way forward cos of the torque. I'm not afraid of it and it don't cost ££££'s to drive it!
Well done to this company for re-inventing a dead Cerb. I love my AJP for the time being but would slap in a different engine at the drop of a hat if it failed as I loved my mk4 twin turbo supra and would shove one of them in if I blew mine up!!

I suppose I want to say, I'm impressed with Diesel turbo's!!!

Interesting. Ish.

I see they've removed the "new" car price from their most recent pricelist.

Where are these cars ... The diesel Cerb and the LS Tuscan being put together ?

I think the web site is classic TVR reborn, a little bit of info.... That a 6 year old could write and a couple of black and white photos of old Blackpool pictures, apart from the Tuscan engine bay which could have been knocked together in any back street garage....

I would love to see TVR come clean and say... Here we are, this is where our new factory is.. We have X amount of workers and were going to produce X amount of cars a year.... Or have I missed that bit ?

Oh and have you seen the new badge you can order on the parts page.. It's not my cup of tea.... I bet year 3 of the infants had to pull all the stops out to get them made in time laugh

The badge design is hardly new - its the original TVR logo from before the "modern" one.

Obviously aiming them at the Germans where diesel is cheaper than petrol.. Also they tend to produce less CO2 so can get away with EU emissions targets.. Can't see the point in such a heavy engine in a cerbera... Would bugger up the handling, unless it was mated with a transaxle chassis, with strengthening...
I'd miss the pops and bangs and pickup of an ajp, personally..

I guess the website has been up for approaching a year and offering extremely competitive LS conversion prices and restos and yet in that time everyone has preferred to pay more and wait longer to have the likes of TopCats, S&D and many others restore or transplant their cars.

The website is just about as unprofessional as you can get. It's written by either a dyslexic or a retard with no professional ability. It screams 'do not touch'.

It's like a bunch of wilted flowers and a manky teddy bear tied to a lamppost next to a faded photo of a kid.

If I may add, the little I was in contact with them I can only say they definitely are as professional as their website :-)

I wish them all the luck and want them to succeed but that website is atrocious. If I was Dom I would be very unhappy to have my business linked to that.
If they are serious then they need to get serious.

A diesel cerbera is just wrong, regardless of how much torque or power it has!

The AJP sounds like a diesel on start up from cold anyway, so we are halfway there already!!
