Another badge almost complete here. I'll post a photo when the clear lacquer has dried. I used a slightly different technique for the letters, which could come in handy for those who have a hand as shaky as mine. As the letters are raised from the badge, grab a sanding block and some fine sandpaper, and you can patiently remove the paint from the letters this way. I took mine beyond the silver coating all the way back to the brass, as I have the early gold centre caps on my Spiders and it should co-ordinate. God, this is turning me into a woman. biggrin

Can anybody help me, I have a CERBREA 4.5 red rose edition. My rear boot badge is black and gold lettering. It has misted up. Unfortunately you cant buy boot badges with gold lettering. Can anybody tell me where i can get my boot badge refurbished?

If you have an enamel badge, you can peel the enamel off (mine did at least) to reveal the original black and chrome badge. And if you rub down the chrome plating, it'll reveal the bronzey gold colour underneath.

Worth a try if you are only going to bin yours anyway. I quite liked the chrome and refurbed mine recently.

I tried polishing the enamel to get rid of the misting, but made it worse -

So I pealed it off (in fact, it was starting to come off, which is what spurred me on) -

Cleaned up the chrome and sprayed it satin black, then rubbed down the lettering carefully -

Looks pretty tidy now!!
