The CV joints are good quality GKN units .. are you sure its the CV that's gone and not just the shaft that's snapped inside the CV boot ? I've never seen a broken CV joint on a cerbera yet, but plenty of snapped shafts ..

Thanks for the replies everyone! :-)
Pretty sure it's the CV. As i roll it it's locking up and stopping the car from rolling. I can move the drive shaft from side to side by hand but not up and down? There is no movement in the other side? Trust me to be a first! Lol! If i have smashed one i'll get it put in a perspex box for you. Lol!

Just refreshing my boots & decided to do the joints as they have a bit of play. Used Prolinx. service, parts, price & delivery we great. The silicone boots look tough, ( they dont come with bands)

If you or anyone need some new bolts I bought in bulk so have loads spare.

Scratch that. In the cold light of day it appears my problems are within the diff. :-( Had both wheels jacked up and can turn them both and feel the resistance from the LSD...... and then it all locks up and sounds awfull. See new post about what to do about a broken diff. Lol! I think while i'm at it i'll replace the CV's and maybe the shafts with some of those unbreakable ones that Brummie uses.

Had a CV joint fail on mine about a month ago...i suspect it was caused by the bolts coming loose in the hub carrier.

CV joints are also available at Dave Mac props (the drive shaft man) at around £35 iirc.

http://www.davemacprops.com/dmphome.html

I still have my original CV's in mine though.
Best value man to rebuild a diff is the guy who just rebuilt the box on my VW T5 van, and just done my 3rd gear on my TKO.

this guy here..

Hope this helps.

Cheers Brummie!
Are those CV's unbreakable too? They are a very reasonable price! How much do you think i'm looking at for the diff to be rebuilt (ball park)? And also if it's my 3.08 crown and pinion, didn't you upgrade yours to a beefier one? Where from and how much? And also are you running a plated LSD or a Torsen/ATB type and why did you choose that type?
Thanks in advance!
