The last few days my Cerbera Speed Six has starting making a horrible vibration-type noise in the engine area. It happens when I rev it in third to 3000 revs and then let the revs fall to 2000 (but in no other gear). I’ve had the exhaust looked at to make sure this is not catching on one of the plates underneath, but it’s still doing it.

The problem in taking it to a dealer is that, once the car is fully warmed up, it stops doing it (typical with this type of thing!) Has anyone any idea what it might be. Grateful for suggestions.

As its only happening in third gear is it not a gear box problem, just a thought.

Yep, I've had a similar noise.
Turned out to be the exhausts (even though I checked them and couldn't see them catching on anything either)

Took it to dealer and a bit of welding work did the trick.

I had the same problem with a 4.5 I've just bought, started with a rattling which appeared to come from under the passenger seat, turned out to be the heat shield near the tail pipes. Having had this tighted up I was horrified to discover the most horrendous vibration on the way home. Straight back to the dealer who told me was something inside the CAT working loose(?). Anyway they've order a new part, although having said that I've not experinced the vibration since that trip home.
