just in mine and nicks defense as if we need to defend ourselves i would like to point to a few facts, the first proper racing cerb was built by martin short it did use the speed six albeit they went through over twenty engines in the first year it also had much work done to the bodyshell you cant make an effective race /trackcar with all the niceties of a road car, plus the speed twelve is a cerb but it dosent bear much resemblence to the standard car either engine wise or suspension, i am aware of people views but i hope they see it for what it hopefully will be another good car that may grace the race track at some point and help to keep the marque out there in peoples minds.plus i restored a crashed chim which is now nicks orange blown car and am a god way through restoring my wedge to nearenough original condition have any of the dissenters done similar, and thats without my customer cars i have brought back from the dead.

work today cut away the old front shock mounts and cleaned them up got some bottom suspension mounts fabbed and tacked dont look a lot for a days work but the cleaning up where you cut stuff off takes ages i also took delivery off the new diff look good,i also have drilled the front bottom suspension mount holes the front ones going through the existing brackets you can see the original holes and it gives you an idea how much the chassis is being lowered although it isent quite as much as the gap suggests thats more to do with where the pickup point is for the uprights we are using.

yesterdays task picking up the majority of the running gear to complete the rolling chassis still lots to fabricate not least of all the wishbones and ARB`S, missing is the rack which most likely is going to be a triton unit just waiting for the costing on the right hand drive version, been sorting the rest of the cerb bits i still have in stock to make room for all this heavy duty gear.

well after a good weekend at the cla gamefair back down to fabricating the turret for the front chassis stiffening, it has to be removable so to this end i am machining up the tube joiners to weld into the ends of the tube to allow removal, not a good day belt on the mill stripped itself dont make them like they used to its only lasted about twenty years, then the sudds pump packed up so had to plumb in a central heating pump to sort that so hopefully better day tomorrow, the tube all turned up for the reast of the chassis work and all the tube for the suspension wishbones.

been hard at it for the last couple of days managed to finish all the machining to the turret tube fixing points to allow it to be removed for engine work etc.all the tubes have been faced off in the lathe to ensure square fitting off the ends, the two main stress tubes taking the upward force from the damper mounts and transfer it back towards the rollcage and the central fixing tube are all in place and welded, the mounts for the four other legs two for dampers and two for the front wishbone mounts are all made and welded fit those tomorrow, the tig welding is not my tidiest getting used to the new machine by the end of the day on the last four tubes much better.

another day on the suspension mill, got the top a arm completed, fabricated the start of the bottom shock mount, lots of work on the lathe with fiddly bushes spacers etc. for the various mounts, made two of everything so offside should go quicker, stripped it all down for the full tig welding.just as an aside anyone in the district wants to have a look at the car as it proceeds just haul on by kettles always on.

not quite so much accomplished this week had to fit another engine into my old 200 disco which i have upgraded to a 300 seems a lot better, so managed to complete the a arms for the off side front apart from welding in the shock mount but another milestone completed, also took delivery off the tillet carbon seat and mounts which is very nice so i can build the mounts into the chassis.

those spacers and the spherical bearing are for the bottom a arm fixing at the upright end the other bits are the rod end carriers the shock mounts are rather different they have one fixed side and a bush which is floating on the other so easy to fit and tighten.
