Buying New Instead.
Discussion
The only thing that I would say to you is look at the depreciation which right now is huge. I bought my Cerb S6 for £45K and am struggling to get £28.5K for it 2 yrs later. I will have another TVR but never will I buy a new or ex-demo model again. I will buy a 2 yr old one which has had the depreciation knocked out of it.
I know what you are saying in regards to deprecation. But I'm going to be keeping this car for a few years, and I don't know if it's right or wrong but I'm following my heart in the decision I've made to buy it! I've wanted a Cerbera for a few years now and being able to spec my own new one is something I did'nt realise I would be able to do until now! Thanks for your advice, and it is something I have thought long and hard about!
Have you read my earlier email cirvy?
You can pull the drawings from my foTANGO public file.

How do you know you will have it for a few years? - you may get a bad one and want to get rid of it, you may move house, have kids etc etc.
IMHO if you buy new when there are good used examples around £10K + cheaper with excellent history, then you are mad - £16K depreciation in 2 years is still £16K out of your pocket - that buys a fine second car, that can be used when the weather is crap or for the commute/Tesco run. It also keeps the mileage (and therefore the running costs) down and preserves the resale of the car.
Finally, get an AJP, not a speed 6
Sounds to me like your warming to the idea raceboy, we will soon have you popping & banging through the streets of mucksville, or at least down to the Optimax station.Incidently, topped up with Optimax last night, completely filled it, went to start it, just as it turned over to start, the most almighty POP from the exhaust, wow i'm still dribbling.....
In response to Dougslar! I'm not buying a speed 6!! I have just bought a new House! And I have the use of an MGF as an other car (Crap maybe, but I can still use it). I HAVE thought all of this through! As for the question of if I have kids! Thats up to me and the boss, and when I shared your post with her, she found it rather amusing! Thanks anyway! But I have been through the pros and cons many times!
We WILL be buying a new 4.5 as/when we can afford it... The way we see it, the advantage of a new car, is you can have it EXACTLY as you want it... When you buy a 2nd hand car, you always buy something that you like, but it's usually some sort of compromise, because it's not your "ideal" car....
Still, out current car isn't that bad looking...
