Hi was wondering if anyone could, i remove my Heater control unit so it could be repaired and like a total tool I did not note which connector goes where i.e top or bottom as both the connectors are identical. i also dont know what way round the ribbon cable goes in. i have tried looking for drawings but found that the electrical drawings are not very clear. Could anyone help me by taking a picture of their Connector Blocks and ribbon cable going into the Heater Control ECU please as that would really help.

Its in the passenger footwell next to the ECU stuck to the top with velcro. (well, on my early 4.2 anyway)

You can get the correct orientation of the ribbon by the small holes in the connector.

Hello,

I'm now trying to diagnose my absolutely non working ventilation... The ribbon cable seems damaged, and one of the pins of the panel was bent, leading me to think that the whole stuff has ben unplugged may have been plugged back improperly.

Do someone know how to plug the ribbon cable properly to the control panel?

Thanks a lot!

Hello again,

well, plugged the thing back and everything is working. So here is a picture of the right way to plug it. FYI, if you plug it the wrong side, it will do funny stuff, but won't burn (I tried it!)

I think there's a "1" on the black plastic connector that tallies with the 1 on the PCB.

Thread Hijack alert!
I find the blue LED very dim compared to the red one, can't see it all all in daylight; can anyone suggest a suitable replacement?
