Help guys. I'm really tired of the increasingly rip-off pricing at TVR dealers. Added to that is the fact that I am certain jobs are being done that dont need doing so that a "service" seems to be rarely less than £1500!. As my 4.5 Cerb is now 30,000 miles and 4 years old I've decided to put two fingers up to the dealer network (especially my local one). Joospeed is 200 miles away, Peninsula 150 miles etc. The nearest I can find is Andy at APMauto but thats still a 70 mile haul. Anyone know a decent independent reasonably close to Oxford?
Hellllllp!!

You could try Thames Valley Racetech in Sonning Common, out the top of Henley. Steve Howard knows the AJP engines and they always seem to have a few Cerberas in for work.

Thanks trefor - still a bit far but better than any other option I've come across. Anyone had dealings with them or know their track record

I've taken my Chimaera there a fair bit. They do know the cars and how to fix them. My only suggestion is to get estimates before any work is carried out so you know how much it's going to cost (approximately) as any TVR repairs can cost more money than you're planning for, never mind Cerberas.

I use them for my S and have been very pleased, most of the Berks TVRCC members use them and they do know about Cerbs and the later engines - they prep racing Tuscans and built the road going Tuscan racer featured in CCC a while back. Steve has also helped diagnose faults on Faisal's Cerb (in the US) over the phone.

Cheers,
John.

Oxford to Sonning Common is a minor inconvenience to have someone who knows that much about Cerberas look after your car - and it's even a nice drive! As you say, your other option is a trip to Chesterfield where you would likewise benefit from another Cerbie-meister's expertise. As someone once said,

"everywhere is local in a Cerbera..."

Probably 40ish miles would take you to Colin Blower motorsport in Hinckley?? They look after many AJP engined Tuscan racers (obviously!) and always do mine proud!!!

Why not cont Stuart at Cerberus Motorsport (stuart@cerberusmotorsport.co.uk). He travelled from Bristol to my place in Southampton. Well pleased with his workmanship.
