Who has the highest miles Cerb?
Discussion
Just curious really.
I have a P reg 4.2 on 74k miles. Had it's 12k service by Jason last summer and was given clean bill of health, but the clearances will become a worry. Chassis is strong but has had a bit of welding in the past so at some point that will need a total overhaul, original paintwork is OK but not perfect and the interior needs a refurb.
At some point all of this is going to need to be done and I find myself thinking about what I would do with the engine. If it has a rebuild, do I keep it as a 4.2 and if it is rebuilt I assume the engine does not go back to 0.
I think it is the highest mileage Cerb out there. Am I wrong?

Hi, still got it, mileage is about 170k now (it's outside and it too cosy n here to go and look.....). Engine has not been rebuilt, there was a new cam chain fitted at around 100k.
Hero! Enjoying it rather than looking at it.. How many of those miles have you done yourself? What do you use it for?Flatplane8 said:

Amazing work! Mine also lives outside mostly and gets used all the time. It doesn't like not being used regularly. Edited by Outl4w on Tuesday 17th January 10:09

Your car really is a testament to the marque and the Cerbera model in particular. One thing is for sure Cerbs are often known to protest in their own special way if they think they have been underused in any way. As for mine it's a 2003 with 65k on it, 60k of which have been done by myself in the last 13 years I've owned Her.Jhonno said:

I bought it nearly 14 years ago with 82k miles on it. At the time it was much higher than the typical 12-20k miles of others, but it was a bit cheaper. In the early years of my ownership I was doing about 13k a year, work and pleasure, now its down to about 3k miles per year.Been to Le Mans 8 times, Belgium a few times (including driving by accident through the main square in Brugge - pedestrians only!) and several track days. Lived outside all that time and driven in rain sleet and snow. All the dynamics of a chevy pickup when its icy.....
Now I live where I work, its not used much, but still gets a run out every now and then. We even tried to start the tractor with it a few years ago (it didn't work....)
Used APM for initial inspection and servicing until I moved away, then used Str8six, now use Scole Engineering since moving to Suffolk. All have been very good.
Still love driving it, if it lasts long enough will give it to my son in about 20 years time!
Mine is nudging 82,000 at the moment, with about 10% of that being me.
It's been rebuilt twice in its life, although I regard the recent second rebuilf as a work in progress since the timing cover was never properly resealed. Soon it will be, and I'll let Power give it a further tickle whilst it is out again.
They seem to like being used regularly, and the only whinging my car does is minor and will be sorted very soon.
