I too have had my wiper motor pack up this year on the Cerbera. The wiper blades would stop half way across the screen, which made life difficult and dangerous when circumstances meant that I could not immediately pull over to reset them. I tolerated this for a few occasions because they would start working again, but on a dark and stormy night they stopped again about 2 miles from my home. The windscreen had Rainex on it so it wasn't a complete disaster and I could get home, but that was it; the wiper motor was finished.

Just as anyone reading this thread has done, I looked into getting another motor the same as a direct replacement. Apparently, there are none. So what about alternatives?! Often the suggestions turn out to be myths or simply don't fit/ cause more grief. Some people have had success by their own Dr Frankenstein efforts. I doff my cap to those clever people, but I don't have those skills.

It was my old Dad who told me to go see (local to him) Carwood Rewind in Yeovil, Somerset. I took my wiper motor into them for assessment, the verdict, it must have got VERY hot. However, it could be rewound and rebuilt. I think the cost to me was about £225 (I'm not saying that's a fixed price). The rebuilt motor was reinstalled (not by them, they just do electric motors) and it has been working fine since.

I did feel how much drag there was on the wiper blades against the screen when the motor was out. The motor has to work very hard. So, I also decided to make it easier on the motor and fit shorter blades. I chose 13", which is fine, but perhaps, the 14" could be just the right compromise against the original 16". It is only a letterbox size screen.

Same happened to me - I asked Str8six to put the TVR parts “upgraded” one in when mine started playing up, and it didn’t fit. Not even close. So they ended up sending the existing one away for rebuild. Been great since then.

Same happened to me, the upgraded one is about 20mm too big to fit, but fits fine in Chims and Griffs. You have to get the original rebuilt.

Upgraded motor appears to fit my Cerb Speed Six. Very pleased with it so far.

To remove the motor you have to undo the nut to the drive and then remove the cover plate to allow you to unhook the link to the drive cable

Have a look at this to see how it works

Owners on this thread saying the motor or upgraded motor is too big, do you mean too tall because the p.o. seems to have fitted one to my car but it’s lifted the scuttle above it and broken said scuttle at the rivet
