Throttle Pot equivalent parts
Discussion
Hi guys
To be able to choose a hall replacement throttle pot, I have just posted a table of values that represent the full throttle range.

Here's another option, must be worth giving them a call at least

Interestingly the Vemo, Metzger and Magneti Marelli are all showing 3-5 days, but the Pierburg is showing 24hrs, so perhaps the Pierburg really is in stock.
Still scary prices though.
£55 quid via Latvia with £7 postage on top for an Intermotor 19922 boxed NOS (New Old Stock)?https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/search?keyword=40200...

I've also updated the Alternative Parts list with the Intermotor numbers for both the Blue and White plus the other manufacturers for the Blue
Also these guys have UK stock of the Lucas part for £77

Presumably this Latvian chap with five in stock has realised the rocking horse shyte value of these, and is offering them for the bargain price of £159.98

That Latvian chap is in Salaspils, Vidzeme, Latvia - a much more expensive part of the country obviously...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Throttle-Position-Sensor...
Mine is in Kaunas, Lithuania - obviously much more reasonably priced and still punting them out at USD $70.00 and has 3 left available

These could be a long term solution if they can program them to emulate the ford ones. I'll ring them as I want some for mine anyway.
Just wondering if this is looking promising? These could be a long term solution if they can program them to emulate the ford ones. I'll ring them as I want some for mine anyway.
My finger is currently hovering over the buy it now button for a couple of the standard black versions.
Thanks
My blue throttle pot's just died in my Tuscan and I'm very interested in a/the contactless option - either one that matches directly, or one where we put a more generic item in and have a ADC -> mapping -> DAC in the middle. I would much appreciate it if the guys who have already contacted suppliers could post their findings/progress and/or private message me?
To get started, does anybody know what the connector on the throttle pot is, so that I don't have to hack my loom about?

Just to ressurect this thread..
I was going to email them myself but I don't have a spare to send them. I'm sure they'd get a healthy number of orders via a group buy.

Just spoke to Jenvey, they are looking into it. It seems that they can be factory programmed to emulate any other TPS but he's not sure how to go about telling them what we need in terms of angles and output voltages so he's looking into it. I have a spare one I think so I'll have an hour on it tonight and see if they are linear and see if can work up a table.
A nice contactless solution would be nice if they are not silly money, although the ford one isn't cheap as TPS units go.
could we not send them an example pot and they could do whatever measurements they need? That would be more reliable than us trying to measure the characteristics ourselves.A nice contactless solution would be nice if they are not silly money, although the ford one isn't cheap as TPS units go.

Ive mentioned this before but worth just refreshing ..
There is a work around for the 4.5 guys for this
You can use a 4.2 pot instead.
You need to
1 carefully bash the white plastic cover by hitting a small drift through the 8mmD shaft slot to break through the plastic on the other side.
2 slacken the grub screws on the alloy Tpot mounting collar on the inlet manifold and make sure you can rotate it, warning years of never moving will mean it's stiff even with screws slackened. cut down allen keys and ball ended allen keys are handy here. access is limited.
3 fit the 4.2 tpot the wrong way round to how the 4.5 one was fitted.
4 swap the OUTER terminals in the 3 pin female connector
5 fire up diagnostics and rotate the Tpot and collar to get required reading. tighten screws.
6 stick something over the open end of the Tpot thats showing to stop dirt ingress
Now .. if you don't have aircon all that is straightforward.
If you DO have aircon then you will probably find that the very edge of the 3pin connector fouls on the aircon pump pipe before you can get to the required idle reading position for the Tpot. In this case you will have to file a comple of mm off the edge of the pastic connector.
Ive done this mod a few times now, and Ive told many in the trade about it too.
It gets you out of trouble at this moment but best bit is it's entirely reversible back to std when blue pots come available again.
